Special Instructions
Fleet Phospho Soda is not used for the treatment of constipation.
With caution in elderly and frail patients, patients with reduced renal function, heart disease, colostomy, and patients on a low-salt diet because of the potential for hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, dehydration due to hypernatriemia and acidosis.
The patient should be warned about the expected frequent liquid stools. Very rarely, single or multiple aphtho-like changes were observed on endoscopy on the mucosa of the sigmoid and rectum. These were either lymphoid follicles, or discrete formations of inflammatory nature, or epithelium changes caused by the preparation performed. These abnormalities are not clinically significant and disappear spontaneously without treatment. Rarely, prolongation of the QT interval on ECG as a result of electrolyte imbalance of the type of hypocalcemia or hypokalemia is observed.
Perhaps use with caution in persons taking calcium channel blockers, diuretics, lithium-based agents, and other drugs that can affect electrolyte levels because there is a possibility of developing hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, dehydration with hypernatriemia, and acidosis.
The absorption of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract may be delayed or even completely stopped while taking the drug. The effect of regularly taken drugs (e.g., oral contraceptives, antiepileptics, anti-diabetics, antibiotics) may be reduced or absent altogether.
.
Contraindications

- intestinal integrity disorder;
- megacolon (congenital or acquired);

Side effects
Digestive system disorders: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, diarrhea; very rarely – during endoscopy on the mucosa of the sigmoid and rectum – single or multiple aphthous formations may be observed (clinically insignificant, spontaneously disappear without treatment).
CNS disorders: asthenia, weakness, headache, dizziness.
Metabolism disorders: in some patients from risk groups – dehydration and/or electrolyte imbalance (including hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalcemia, hypernatriemia, acidosis).
Others: allergic reactions.
Pregnancy use
Phlit Phospho Soda should not be used in pregnancy because there is insufficient reliable data on the ability of the drug to have toxic effects on the fetus and/or to cause abnormal fetal development.
Because sodium phosphate is excreted with breast milk, you should stop breastfeeding immediately after the first dose of the drug and for the next 24 hours after the last dose.
