Non-narcotic analgesic, blocks COX1 and COX2 mainly in the CNS, affecting the centers of pain and thermoregulation. In inflamed tissues, cellular peroxidases neutralize the effect of paracetamol on COX, which explains the almost complete absence of anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications

Colds, fever, TempTepper is used in children from 3 months to 12 years as: – An antipyretic for acute respiratory infections, flu, childhood infections, postvaccination reactions and other conditions accompanied by fever; – An analgesic for pain of mild to moderate intensity, including: headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, pain from injuries and burns.

How to take, the dosage

Rectally. The frequency of administration is 2-4 times a day; the interval is at least 4 hours. The dose depends on the age and body weight of the child. The average single dose is 10-12 mg/kg body weight.

Interaction

Stimulants of microsomal oxidation in the liver (phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, flumecinol, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants) increase the production of hydroxylated active metabolites, which determines the possibility of hepatotoxic effect in small overdoses. Microsomal oxidation inhibitors (including cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxic effects. When taken together with salicylates, the nephrotoxic effect of paracetamol increases. Combination with chloramphenicol leads to increased toxic properties of the latter. It enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants and reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.
