Digestive enzyme, compensates insufficient secretory function of the pancreas and biliary function of the liver, improves digestion, has proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic action.

Included pancreatic enzymes (lipase, alpha-amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin) contribute to the breakdown of proteins into amino acids, fats into glycerol and fatty acids, starch into dextrins and monosaccharides.

Trypsin suppresses stimulated pancreatic secretion with an analgesic effect.

The enzyme hemicellulase promotes the breakdown of plant fiber, which also improves digestion and reduces the formation of gas in the intestines. Bile extract has a choleretic effect, helps emulsify fats, improves absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins and increases lipase activity.

Special instructions

The safety of using pancreatin during pregnancy has not been sufficiently studied.
Use is possible in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.

In cystic fibrosis, the use of pancreatin in high doses is not recommended due to the increased risk of developing strictures (fibrotic colonopathy). The dose should be adequate to the amount of enzymes required for fat absorption, taking into account the quality and quantity of food consumed.

sodium carboxymethyl starch (Primogel) – 21.5 mg,

pregelatinized starch (starch 1500) – 16.5 mg,

povidone (low molecular weight medical polyvinylpyrrolidone) – 5 mg,

magnesium stearate – 3.3 mg,

colloidal silicon dioxide (Aerosil) – 3.3 mg,

microcrystalline cellulose – to obtain an uncoated tablet weighing 330 mg.

Shell composition:

cellacephate (cellulose acetylphthalyl) – 2.847 mg, polysorbate (Tween 80) – 0.85 mg, liquid paraffin (vaseline oil) – 0.5 mg, brown iron oxide (sykovit 70 (E172), ferronate (E172)) – 0.803 mg.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including pork intolerance), acute pancreatitis, exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.

Side Effects

Symptoms of intestinal obstruction (formation of strictures in the ileocecal region and ascending colon) and immediate allergic reactions (with cystic fibrosis, especially in children).

Interaction

With the simultaneous use of pancreatin with iron preparations, the absorption of the latter may be reduced.

Overdose

Symptoms: With long-term use in high doses – hyperuricosuria. when using high doses in patients with cystic fibrosis, strictures in the ileocecal region and in the ascending colon. Hyperuricemia. Children have constipation.

Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions
