Antifungal drug for external use.

It has fungistatic and fungicidal effect caused by damage to the cytoplasmic membrane of the fungus by disrupting the biosynthesis of sterols.

Decreases the content of ergosterols and accumulates the content of atypical steric nonplanar sterols.

It has a broad spectrum of action. It is highly active against both most common and rare causative agents of fungal nail lesions: dermatophytes – Trichophyton spp, Microsporum spp, Epidermophyton spp; yeast fungi – Candida spp, Cryptococcus spp., Malassezia spp. (Pityrosporum spp.); mold fungi – Alternaria spp., Scopulariopsis spp., Hendersonula spp.; fungi of the family Dematiaceae – Cladosporium spp., Fonsecaea spp., Wangiella spp.; dimorphic fungi – Coccidioides spp., Histoplasma spp., Sporothrix spp.

Indications

Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds (if no more than 2/3 of the nail plate is affected).

Prevention of fungal nail lesions.

Composition

Active ingredient:

amorolfin hydrochloride 55.7 mg (equivalent to 50 mg of amorolfin)

Auxiliary substances:

triacetin (glycerol triacetate), 10.5 mg;

methyl methacrylate,

trimethylammonioethyl methacrylate chloride and ethyl acrylate copolymer (2:0.2:1) (ammonium methacrylate copolymer (type A) (Eudragit RL 100) – 125 mg;

ethyl acetate – 150 mg;

butyl acetate – 50 mg;

anhydrous ethanol – to 1 ml.

How to take, the dosage

Apply to the affected nails once or twice a week.

Before application, remove the affected areas of the nail with the file supplied, clean the surface with the swab of alcohol included; before the next application the procedure is repeated after removing the residues of nail polish with an alcohol swab.

The treatment is continued continuously until a new nail grows and the affected areas disappear. The duration of the therapy depends on the localization and severity of the process and on average is 6 months (finger nails) or 9-12 months (toe nails).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.
