Nystatin is fungistatic.

Binding with sterols in the cell wall of fungi, it violates its permeability, which leads to the release of the main components of the cell.

It is active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, including Candida albicans.

It does not have cumulative properties.

Indications

Mold (candidiasis), Inflammation of the female genitalia, Fungus, Itching and dryness in the genital area

Candida mucous membranes (including the vagina, rectum and lower intestines), skin and internal organs; prevention of candidiasis in long-term treatment with antibiotics, especially in depleted and weakened patients.
