Nystatin, ointment 100000 units/g 15 g

Nystatin is a polyene antifungal antibiotic that is highly active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida.

It has a fungicidal effect.

The structure of the antibiotic has a large number of double bonds with high tropicity to the steric structures of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungi, which promotes incorporation of the drug molecule into the cell membrane and formation of numerous channels through which uncontrolled electrolyte transport occurs.

The increase in osmolarity inside the cell leads to its death.

Indications

Candidiasis of mucous membranes (including the vagina, rectum and lower intestines), skin and internal organs;

Prevention of candidiasis in long-term treatment with antibacterial agents, especially in depleted and weakened patients.

How to take, the dosage

The ointment is applied thinly to the affected areas of the skin and mucous membranes 1-2 times a day, daily for 7-10 days. It can be combined with taking the drug orally.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, liver function disorders, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, pregnancy.
