Slow calcium channel blocker (SCB), a 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative, has predominantly cerebrovasodilatory and antiischemic effects. It can prevent or eliminate vasospasm caused by various vasoactive substances (including serotonin, prostaglandins, histamine). Due to high lipophilicity, it penetrates through the blood-brain barrier.

FMC yellow (hypromellose, macrogol-400, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide, iron oxide yellow dye) 9.00 mg, propylene glycol 1.00 mg.

How to take, the dosage

On the oral route, tablets should be swallowed whole with a small amount of liquid, regardless of meals. Intervals between doses should be at least 4 hours. If there are no other prescriptions, the following dosing regimen is recommended:

1. Subarachnoid hemorrhage after aneurysm rupture. The recommended dose is 60 mg 6 times daily for 7 days (after infusion therapy with nimodipine solution).

2. cerebral dysfunction in elderly patients. The recommended dose is 30 mg 3 times a day.

Contraindications

Side effects

Allergic reactions: skin itching, rash.

Cardiovascular system disorders: decreased blood pressure, bradycardia or tachycardia, arrhythmias, facial skin flushing, development or exacerbation of existing heart failure and myocardial ischemia (especially in patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease).

Gastrointestinal tract disorders: nausea, diarrhea or constipation, flatulence, dry mouth, change of appetite (usually increase), gum hyperplasia (bleeding, painfulness, swelling), in rare cases – paralytic ileus.

Nervous system disorders: headache, dizziness, asthenia, extrapyramidal disorders (ataxia, mask-like face, muscle rigidity, tremor, difficulty swallowing),- symptoms of central nervous system agitation (insomnia, increased motor activity, agitation, aggressiveness), depression, excessive fatigue, sleepiness.

Hematopoietic system disorders: thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.

Respiratory system disorders: difficulty in breathing, cough, wheezing.

Motor system disorders: pain and swelling of joints.

Impact on laboratory parameters: increased activity of “hepatic” transaminases, alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyltransferase, renal dysfunction with increased concentration of urea and/or creatinine in plasma.

Others: peripheral edema, increased sweating, decreased renal function (increased concentration of urea, hypercreatininemia), galactorrhea, weight gain.
