Against the background of the drug is noted improvement of vision, which is manifested in increased acuity, brightness and visual fields.

Improves blood supply to the lower extremities.

Stimulates the production of antibodies in response to antigen introduction, which indicates immunostimulating properties, but at the same time it does not contribute to the development of immediate hypersensitivity and does not change the allergic inflammatory skin reaction caused by the introduction of a foreign protein.

Absorption: It is quickly absorbed. Absolute bioavailability with oral administration is 100%.

Distribution: It penetrates into various organs and tissues, easily passes through the blood-brain barrier. Maximal concentration in blood (Tmax) is reached after 1 hour.

Metabolism: Not metabolized in the body.

Elimation: Half-life period (T1/2) – 3-5 hours. It is excreted unchanged: about 40% – by kidneys and 60% – in bile and sweat.

Indications

CNS diseases of various genesis, especially those associated with disorders of metabolic processes in the brain, intoxication (in particular, in post-traumatic states), accompanied by deterioration of intellectual and mental functions, decreased motor activity;

Composition

1 tablet contains:

The active ingredient: fonturacetam – 50.00 mg or 100.00 mg;

auxiliary substances: povidone K-17, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxy-methyl starch, magnesium stearate.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion. Take immediately after meals. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined by the doctor. Doses vary depending on the characteristics of the patient’s condition. The average single dose is 150 mg (100 to 250 mg); the average daily dose is 250 mg (200 to 300 mg). Maximum daily dose of Nanotropil® Novo is 750 mg. It is recommended that a daily dose of up to 100 mg should be taken once in the morning, and over 100 mg should be divided into 2 doses. The duration of treatment may vary from 2 weeks to 3 months, on average 30 days. If necessary, the course may be repeated after 1 month.

To improve performance, 100-200 mg once in the morning hours, for 2 weeks (for athletes, 3 days).

The recommended duration of therapy with the drug in patients with alimentary-constitutional obesity is 30-60 days in a dose of 100-200 mg once a day (in the morning hours). It is not recommended to take the drug later than 15 h.

Interaction

Fonturacetam can increase the effect of CNS stimulating drugs and nootropic drugs.

The drug shows pronounced antagonism to the cataleptic action of neuroleptics, and also weakens the severity of the sleeping effects of ethanol and hexobarbital.

Special Instructions

In excessive psycho-emotional exhaustion on the background of stress and fatigue, chronic insomnia, a single dose of the drug in the first day may cause a sharp need for sleep. It should be recommended to start course administration of the drug on non-working days for such patients in outpatient conditions.

Synopsis

Round flat cylindrical white to white with a yellowish tint, beveled for 50 mg dosage and beveled and boxed for 100 mg dosage.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Fonturacetam or any excipient of the drug.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Above 18 years of age (due to lack of clinical data on the efficacy and safety of use of Fonturacetam in this age population).

Side effects

Insomnia (in case of taking the drug later than 15 h). In some patients during the first 1-3 days of use psychomotor agitation, skin hyperemia, feeling of warmth, increased blood pressure are possible.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy.

Pregnancy use

There are no data on randomized clinical trials of Fonturacetam in pregnant women, therefore, the use of Nanotropil® Novo during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated.
