One tablet contains:

lactose monohydrate – 71.12 mg,

potato starch – 42.00 mg,

povidone – 16,00 mg,

Magnesium stearate – 0,76 mg,

Dye tropelolin O – 0,12 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Orally, adults and children over 12 years of age. Tablets should be taken whole with plenty of liquid, can be taken with food.

For pain relief, the initial dose is 500 mg, then if necessary, 500 mg every 12 hours or 250 mg every 8 hours.

The usual daily dose used for pain relief is 500 – 1000 mg.

For migraine pain relief, a dose of 500 mg twice daily is recommended. However, treatment should be discontinued if the frequency, intensity and duration of migraine attacks do not decrease within 4-6 weeks.

For relief of menstrual pain, pain after IUD insertion and other gynecological pain (adnexitis), the initial dose is 500 mg, then, if necessary, 250 mg every 6-8 hours for 3-4 days.

For symptomatic therapy of pain syndrome in musculoskeletal system disorders (bursitis, tendovaginitis) a usual daily dose of the preparation is 500-1000 mg in one or two tablets twice a day in the morning and in the evening.

If the preparation is used as an antipyretic the initial dose is 500 mg and then, if necessary, 250 mg every 8 hours.

It is not recommended to use the preparation as an analgesic for over 5 days without consulting a physician. If the symptoms persist, you should consult a physician.

Interaction

When treating with anticoagulants, it should be borne in mind that naproxen may increase bleeding time. The drug should not be used simultaneously with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (increased risk of side effects).

When concomitant use of guidantoin derivatives, anticoagulants or other drugs that bind significantly to plasma proteins, the effect of these drugs may be potentiated.

Naproxen may decrease the antihypertensive effects of propranololol and other beta-adrenoblockers, and may increase the risk of renal failure associated with the use of ACE inhibitors.

The effect of naproxen inhibits the natriuretic effect of furosemide.

Inhibition of renal clearance of lithium leads to increased plasma concentrations of lithium.

Probenecid administration increases plasma levels of naproxen.

Cyclosporine increases the risk of renal failure.

Naproxen slows the excretion of methotrexate, phenytoin, sulfonamides, increasing the risk of their toxic effects.

The antacids containing magnesium and aluminum decrease the absorption of naproxen.

Special Instructions

Do not exceed the doses given in the instructions. To reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse events, use the lowest effective dose for the shortest course possible. If pain and fever persist or get worse, you should see your doctor.

Patients with bronchial asthma, with blood clotting disorders, and patients with hypersensitivity to other analgesics should consult a physician before taking naproxen.

With caution, patients with liver disease and renal failure should be prescribed. In patients with renal insufficiency, creatinine clearance should be monitored. In chronic alcoholic and other forms of liver cirrhosis, the concentration of unbound naproxen is increased, so lower doses are recommended for these patients.

Naproxen should not be taken with other anti-inflammatory and pain medications unless prescribed by a physician. Lower doses are also recommended for elderly patients. Naproxen should be avoided for 48 hours before surgery. If 17 corticosteroids need to be determined, the drug should be discontinued 48 hours before the study. Similarly, naproxen may affect the determination of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid in urine. The use of naproxen, as well as other drugs that block the synthesis of prostaglandins, may affect fertility, so it is not recommended for women planning to become pregnant.

Synopsis

Tablets are light yellow in color with slight stains, flat-cylindrical, beveled and ribbed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to naproxen or sodium naproxen; complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent polyposis of the nose and sinuses and intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including a history). Side effects

Side effects are most common when using high doses of the drug:

– digestive system: constipation, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea, ulcerative stomatitis, gastrointestinal tract erosive and ulcerative lesions and bleeding, NSAID gastropathy (gastric antral lesions in the form of mucosal erythema, hemorrhages, erosions and ulcers), increased activity of “liver” enzymes, liver function disorders, jaundice, blood vomiting, melena;

– from the central nervous system: hearing loss, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, depression, sleep disorders, inability to concentrate, insomnia, malaise, slowed psychomotor reactions, aseptic meningitis, cognitive dysfunction;

– skin side: itching, ecchymoses, increased sweating, purpura, alopecia, photodermatosis;

– sensory organs: tinnitus, visual impairment, hearing impairment;

– cardiovascular system: swelling of the face, extremities, shortness of breath, palpitations, occurrence or aggravation of existing chronic heart failure, vasculitis;

– urogenital system: glomerulonephritis, hematuria, interstitial nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, renal failure, renal papillary necrosis, menstrual disorders;

– from the blood forming organs: eosinophilia, granulocytopenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia;

– respiratory system: eosinophilic pneumonitis;

– allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria, angioneurotic edema, toxic epidermal necrolysis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome;

– others: thirst, hyperthermia, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, myalgia and muscle weakness.

Overdose

Significant overdose of the drug may be characterized by drowsiness, dyspeptic disorders (heartburn, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain), weakness, tinnitus, irritability, in severe cases – bloody vomiting, melena, impaired consciousness, seizures and renal failure.

Treatment: gastric lavage, activated charcoal and symptomatic therapy: antacids, H2-histamine receptor blockers, proton pump inhibitors. Hemodialysis is ineffective.

Pregnancy use

The use of the drug is contraindicated in pregnancy and during lactation (breast-feeding).
