Interaction

Concomitant use with levodopa drugs, dopamine receptor antagonists, m-cholinoblockers may increase the effect of the latter.

Directions for use

Therapy should be supervised by a physician experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of dementia in Alzheimer’s disease.

Special Instructions

Caution is used in patients with thyrotoxicosis, epilepsy, seizures (including history); simultaneous use of NMDA-receptor antagonists (amantadine, ketamine, dextromethorphan). presence of factors increasing urine pH (sudden change of diet, plenty of alkaline gastric buffers), severe urinary tract infections, myocardial infarction in anamnesis, heart insufficiency III-IV functional class (according to NYHA classification), uncontrolled arterial hypertension, renal and hepatic insufficiency.

Overdose

Symptoms: dizziness, tremor, agitation, drowsiness, confusion, agitation, stupor, seizures, psychosis, aggressiveness, hallucinations, vomiting, unsteady gait, diarrhea.

Pregnancy use

There are no data on the use of memantine in pregnant women.
