Pharmacodynamics

Phenazone has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug does not penetrate into the systemic bloodstream if the eardrum is intact.

Indications

Topical symptomatic treatment and analgesia in children from birth and adults for:

– middle otitis media in the acute period at the time of inflammation;

– otitis media as a complication after the flu;

– barotraumatic otitis media.

Active ingredient

Composition

Composition per 1 g.

The active ingredients:

phenazone – 40.0 mg;

lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate in terms of lidocaine hydrochloride – 10.0 mg;

How to take, the dosage

Maxicold® Ototitis is used topically by instillation into the external auditory canal in adults and children 2-3 times a day, 3-4 drops. The bottle should be warmed in the palms of the hands before use to avoid contact of the cold solution with the ear drum.

The course of treatment should not exceed 10 days, after which the prescribed treatment should be reviewed.

You should see your doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after
2-3 days of treatment.

If there is no improvement or new symptoms after treatment, you should talk to your doctor.

Interaction

Special Instructions

The duration of use of Maxicold® Ototitis should not exceed 10 days, after which the prescribed treatment should be reviewed.

When using Maxicold® Ototitis in combination with other ear drops, an interval of at least 30 minutes between doses must be maintained.

Information for athletes: The product contains an active ingredient that may give a positive reaction in a doping control.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

perforation (disruption of the integrity) of the eardrum;

hypersensitivity to pyrazolone derivatives (drugs containing sodium metamizole, phenylbutazone).

Side effects

There is a risk of local allergic reactions, irritation and hyperemia of the ear canal.
