Composition

Active ingredient:

Iodine 12.5 mg;

Associates:

kalium iodide,

Glycerol.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is used topically by one squeeze 4 – 6 times a day to irrigate the mucous membrane of the mouth, pharynx, pharynx. At the time of injection it is recommended to hold your breath.

Interaction

Iodine is inactivated by sodium thiosulfate.

Iodine contained in the drug oxidizes metals, which may cause deterioration of metal objects. Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils and ammonia solutions.

Alkaline or acidic environment, the presence of fat, pus, blood weaken the antiseptic activity.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Iodism may occur: runny nose, urticaria-like skin rash, salivation, lacrimation, contact dermatitis, erythema, dry skin, mild burning, itching, bronchospasm, nausea, vomiting, Quincke’s edema (in some patients due to the drug odor), redness at the application site.

Overdose

Symptoms: irritation of upper respiratory tract (burns, laryngobronchospasm); if ingested – gastrointestinal mucosa, development of hemolysis, hemoglobinuria; fatal dose – about 3 g (about 300 ml of drug).

Treatment: gastric lavage with 0.5% solution of sodium thiosulfate, sodium bicarbonate solution, sodium thiosulfate 30% is administered intravenously – up to 300 ml.

Pregnancy use

The use of the drug during pregnancy is not recommended.

The use during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefits to the mother exceed the potential risk to the baby.
