Prevent epidemic mumps starting at the age of 12 months.
In accordance with the National Immunization Calendar, children who have not had epidemic mumps are vaccinated twice at the age of 12 months and 6 years.
Emergency prophylaxis is given to children from 12 months of age, adolescents and adults who have had contact with a patient with mumps who has not had epidemic mumps or who have not previously been vaccinated against this infection. In the absence of contraindications, the vaccine shall be administered not later than 72 hours after exposure to the patient.

How to take, the dosage
Immediately prior to use, the vaccine is diluted with the solvent for measles, mumps and mumps-core culture live vaccines (hereinafter referred to as solvent) at the rate of 0.5 ml of solvent per inoculation dose of vaccine.
Interaction
Vaccination against mumps can be carried out simultaneously (on the same day) with other calendar vaccinations (measles, rubella, polio, hepatitis B, whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, influenza, hemophilus infection) provided that it is administered at different body sites or not earlier than 1 month after the previous vaccination.
Mumps vaccination against mumps is carried out not earlier than 2 months after administration of human immunoglobulin preparations. After administration of mumps vaccine, immunoglobulin preparations can be administered no earlier than 2 weeks later; if immunoglobulin is needed earlier, mumps vaccination should be repeated.
Special Instructions
Vaccination is carried out:
- After acute infectious and non-infectious diseases, after exacerbation of chronic diseases – at the end of the acute manifestations of the disease;
- when not severe ARI, acute intestinal diseases and others. –
- After immunosuppressive therapy, the vaccination is carried out 3-6 months after the end of treatment.
Vaccination against mumps is not recommended during the rise in the incidence of serous meningitis.
Persons temporarily exempt from vaccination should be taken under supervision and registration and vaccinated after removal of contraindications.
In order to identify contraindications the doctor (paramedic) on the day of vaccination interview and examination of the vaccinated person with mandatory thermometry.

Contraindications
- Anaphylactic reactions or severe allergic reactions to aminoglycosides (gentamicin sulfate), chicken and/or quail eggs;
- Primary immunodeficiencies, malignant blood diseases and neoplasms;

- acute illness or exacerbation of chronic diseases.
Note. HIV infection is not a contraindication to vaccination.
