Iodinol, 100 ml

Iodinol is an iodine-containing antiseptic agent. The main active ingredient is molecular iodine, which has antiseptic properties.

Iodine has a resorptive effect when applied to large surfaces of the skin: it actively affects metabolism, enhances dissimilation processes, participates in the synthesis of thyroxine, has proteolytic action.

Polyvinyl alcohol – a high molecular weight compound, whose content in iodinol delays iodine release and prolongs its interaction with body tissues; it also reduces iodine irritating effect on tissues.< br>
Iodine has a bactericidal effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative flora (most active on Streptococcus flora and E. coli) as well as on pathogenic fungi and yeast.

The more resistant flora are staphylococcus aureus, but with long-term use of the drug in 80% of cases the suppression of staphylococcal flora is noted. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is resistant. The drug is little toxic.

Indications

• Cronic tonsillitis;
• external otitis;
• chronic periodontitis, purulent surgical diseases;
• trophic and varicose ulcers;
• thermal and chemical burns.

Composition

1 vial contains:

Active substances:

Iodine 0.1 g,

Potassium iodide 0.3 g,

Polyvinyl alcohol 0.9 g.

How to take, the dosage

Topically.

• In chronic tonsillitis washes (50 ml) tonsil lacunae and supra tonsillar space, 4-5 washes with an interval of 2-3 days;
• with purulent otitis daily for 2-4 weeks, 5-8 drops in the ear;
• with atrophic rhinitis
• For atrophic rhinitis after preliminary softening and removal of crusts it is inhaled into the nasal cavity and pharynx 2-3 times a week for 2-3 months;
• for trophic and varicose ulcers, purulent wound surfaces and infected burns, purulent fistulas are applied loose gauze dressings soaked in the drug.
