Iodine 5% with brush, 20 ml

Iodine has a local irritant, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect.

It forms iodamine and destroys microorganisms by absorption, has an active effect on metabolism, increasing the process of desomylation; helps to reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Indications

Inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, myositis, neuralgia (as a distraction), atherosclerosis, tertiary syphilis.

How to take, the dosage

Outwardly, on the damaged areas of the field.

Internal, dissolved in milk, after a meal (the dose is set individually), adults for the prevention of atherosclerosis 1-10 drops 1-2 times a day for 30 days 2-3 times a year; for the treatment of atherosclerosis – 10-12 drops 3 times a day; in tertiary syphilis – 5-50 drops 2-3 times a day. The highest single dose – 20 drops, daily – 60 drops. Children over 5 years of age – 3-5 drops 2-3 times daily. Children over 5 years of age are prescribed 3-5 drops 2-3 times daily, children under 5 years of age are not prescribed. The highest doses of 5% solution for adults: single 20 drops, daily – 60 drops.

Interaction

Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, white sediment mercury (an explosive mixture is formed). Alkaline or acidic environment, presence of fat, pus, blood weaken antiseptic activity. It weakens hypothyroid and strumogenic effects of lithium preparations.

Special Instructions

Mercury iodide may form when used together with yellow mercury ointment, which has a cauterizing effect.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pulmonary tuberculosis, nephritis, nephrosis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, hemorrhagic diathesis, urticaria, pregnancy.

Iodism (runny nose, Quincke’s edema, salivation, lacrimation, skin acne, etc.)

Pregnancy use

It is contraindicated for oral administration during pregnancy.
