Pharmacodynamics.
Jodantipyrine has anti-inflammatory, immunostimulatory and interferonogenic properties. It stabilizes biological membranes and inhibits virus penetration into the cell. It is an active inducer of alpha and beta interferon, stimulates cellular and humoral immunity. It is active against tick-borne encephalitis virus, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
Pharmacokinetics.
Fastly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, bioavailability is 80%. Up to 95% is metabolized in the liver. Urinary excretion through the kidneys by active transport to the renal tubules: 3-5% unchanged, 80-90%) – inactive metabolites. It has high affinity to tissue proteins. Binding to blood proteins is 25%. The elimination half-life is about 6 hours.
Indications
Yodantipyrine is used for the treatment and prevention of tick-borne encephalitis in adults, for the complex treatment of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
