How to take, the dosage
Topically.
Children from 3 to 6 years: the drug may be used after consultation with a medical professional.
Adults and children over 6 years of age: treat the affected areas while holding breath, 1 injection for 1-2 seconds 2 times a day.
Hexatidine adheres to the mucous membrane and thus has a persistent effect. In this regard the drug should be used after meals.
General recommendations for administration.
The drug is sprayed in the oral cavity or pharynx. With the help of aerosol you can easily and quickly treat the affected areas.
It is necessary to perform the following actions:
– put the spray nozzle on the aerosol bottle;
– direct the end of the spray nozzle to the affected area of the mouth or pharynx;
– During the drug administration the bottle should be kept constantly in an upright position as shown in the figure;
– inject the required amount of the drug, pressing the head of the spray nozzle for 1-2 seconds, do not breathe when introducing the aerosol.
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.

There are no special prescriptions.
Pediatric use
In children, the drug may be used from an age when there is no risk of uncontrolled swallowing or when they do not resist a foreign object (spray nozzle) in the mouth when using the aerosol and are able to hold their breath when the drug is injected.
Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery
Hexoral® Aerosol does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and other potentially dangerous activities.
Patient should be informed that if the medication has expired or has expired, it should not be disposed of in the wastewater or outdoors. The medication should be placed in a bag and placed in a trash container. These measures will help protect the environment.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to any of the drug components;
– erosive-desquamous lesions of the oral mucosa;
– children under 3 years of age.
Side effects
Adverse reactions detected during post-registration use of the drug were classified as follows: Very frequent (≥1/10), Frequent (≥1/100, < 1/10), Infrequent (≥1/1000, < 1/100), Rare (≥1/10000, < 1/1000), Very rare (< 1/10000), Frequency unknown (frequency of occurrence cannot be estimated from available data).
Immune system disorders. Very rarely: hypersensitivity reactions (including urticaria), angioedema.
Nervous system disorders. Very rarely: agueusia, dysgeusia.
Respiratory system disorders, thoracic and mediastinal organs. Very rarely: cough, dyspnea due to the occurrence of hypersensitivity reactions.
Gastrointestinal disorders. Very rarely: dry mouth, dysphagia, nausea, salivary gland enlargement, vomiting.
General disorders and disorders in the injection site. Very rarely: reactions at the site of application (including irritation of the mucous membrane of the mouth and pharynx, burning sensation, oral paresthesia, discoloration of the tongue, discoloration of teeth, inflammation, blistering and ulceration).
If any of the side effects listed in the instructions worsen or if you notice other side effects, it is recommended to consult a physician.
Overdose
It is unlikely that hexatidine may have a toxic effect when used according to the instructions for use of the drug.
Ingestion of large amounts of the drug containing ethanol may lead to signs/symptoms of alcohol intoxication.
In any cases of overdose consult a physician immediately. Treatment is symptomatic as in alcohol intoxication. Gastric lavage is necessary within 2 hours after swallowing an excessive dose.
Pregnancy use
There are no reports of any adverse effects of Hexoral® during pregnancy and lactation. However, before prescribing Hexoral® to pregnant or breastfeeding women, the physician should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of treatment, taking into account the lack of sufficient data on the penetration of the drug through the placenta and into the breast milk.
