The herbal cough medicine. It has expectorant, mucolytic and bronchospasmolytic action. It reduces the viscosity of sputum and promotes its expectoration.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug is a dried ivy leaf extract and contains a complex of biologically active substances (triterpene saponins); therefore, pharmacokinetic studies are not possible.
Indications
As an expectorant in the complex treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with difficult to separate sputum.

The drug is a dry extract of ivy leaves and contains a complex of biologically active substances (triterpene saponins), and therefore pharmacokinetic studies are not possible.
Special instructions
You should not take Gerbion® ivy in doses exceeding those recommended in the instructions.
If you have respiratory illnesses accompanied by difficulty breathing, fever, prolonged cough or bloody sputum, you should immediately consult a doctor.
If there is no effect during treatment with the drug for 7 days or the condition worsens, you should consult a doctor.
For children aged 2 to 12 years, it is recommended to take Gerbion® ivy syrup.
Special information on excipients
The drug Gerbion® ivy, lozenges, contains isomalt (type M) (E953). 1 lozenge contains 2447.5 mg of isomalt. This should be taken into account in patients with fructose intolerance (see section “Contraindications”).
The drug contains butylated hydroxyanisole (E320): local skin reactions (for example, contact dermatitis) or irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes are possible.
Impact on driving vehicles and machinery
There is no data on the effect of the drug Gerbion® ivy on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Composition
1 lozenge contains:
Active ingredient: ivy leaf extract dry (5-7.5 : 1)1 35,000 mg
Excipients: isomalt (type M) (E953), citric acid (E330), sucralose (E955), caramel flavor2, citrus flavor3, peppermint leaf oil
1 Common ivy leaf dry extract is produced from common ivy leaf (Hedera Helix L., Araliaceae family).
The ratio of the amount of medicinal plant raw materials to the amount of the original extract: 5-7.5: 1.
Extractant: ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 30% (m/m).
2 Caramel flavoring contains: natural flavoring substance, flavoring preparation, propylene glycol (E1520), water.
3 Citrus flavoring contains: natural flavoring substance, flavoring preparation, butylated hydroxyanisole (E320).
Pregnancy
Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. Due to insufficient data on the safety of using dry extract of ivy leaves in pregnant women and during breastfeeding, the drug Gerbion® ivy is contraindicated for use in these groups of patients.
There are no data on the effect on fertility.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as to plants of the Araliaceae family, pregnancy, breastfeeding, fructose intolerance, children under 12 years of age.
Precautions
Gastritis, gastric ulcer.
Side Effects
Allergic reactions and reactions of individual intolerance are possible (skin rash, itching, shortness of breath, anaphylactic reaction). Gastrointestinal reactions (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) have been reported (frequency unknown).
If you experience the side effects listed in the instructions, or they get worse, or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.
Interaction
There are no reports of drug interactions between the drug Gerbion® ivy and other drugs. The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs that reduce the formation of sputum, as this makes it difficult to remove liquefied sputum.
Overdose
Symptoms: When taking large doses (three times the recommended daily dose), nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.
Storage conditions
At a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in the original packaging (blister).
Keep out of the reach of children.
Shelf life
2 years.
Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
