Pharmacodynamics

The mechanism of action of the drug is associated with its ability to regulate the functional and metabolic activity of cells of innate and adaptive immunity (monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, natural killers, etc.).

Galavit normalizes phagocytic activity of monocytes/macrophages, bactericidal activity of neutrophils and cytotoxic activity of NK-cells. At the same time by restoring the reduced activity of cells of innate and adaptive immunity the preparation increases resistance of the organism to infectious diseases of bacterial, viral and fungal etiology, promotes faster elimination of the pathogen from the organism, reduces the frequency, severity and duration of infections.

Galavit decreases production of reactive oxygen species by hyperactivated macrophages thus reducing oxidative stress and protecting tissues and organs from damaging effects of radicals. Normalization of excessively elevated functional activity of phagocytic cells leads to restoration of their antigen-presenting and regulatory functions and reduction of autoaggression level.

The drug is well tolerated and has no allergizing, mutagenic, embryotoxic, teratogenic and carcinogenic action.

Pharmacokinetics

Extracted from the body mainly through the kidneys. With sublingual administration the elimination half-life is 30 minutes. The main pharmacological effects are observed within 72 hours.

In adults and adolescents over 12 years (including those with secondary immune deficiency) as immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory agent in the complex therapy:

aminodihydrophthalazindione sodium – 25 mg

Associates:

sorbitol – 0.315 g,

starch – 0.14 g,

lactose – 0.1 g,

calcium stearate – 0.005 g,

talc – 0.015 g,

racenthol (menthol) – 0.0001 g.

How to take, the dosage

Sublingually, 1 tablet up to 4 times a day or 2 tablets 2 times a day:

In acute respiratory infections, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, otitis media, adenoiditis for treatment: 1 tablet 4 times a day. The course of 5 days.

In case of chronic and frequent relapses, continue with 1 tablet 4 times a day every other day for the course of up to 15 days.

For prevention: 1 tablet 2 times a day. The course of 5-10 days.

In inflammatory diseases of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, periodontal disease: 1 tablet 4 times a day for 5 days. Then 1 tablet 4 times a day every 3 days for up to 3 weeks.

In chronic recurrent diseases caused by the herpes virus: 1 tablet 4 times a day for 10 days. Then 1 tablet 4 times a day for 10 days.

To increase physical performance:

1 tablet 4 times a day for 10 days, then 1 tablet 4 times a day every 3 days for a course of up to 3 weeks.

The treatment with Galavit can be started at any stage of the disease.

The drug should be used according to the indication, route of action, and dosage listed in the instructions.

If after the above courses of treatment, there is no improvement, or if symptoms get worse, or new symptoms develop, you should talk to your doctor.

Interaction

When concomitant use is possible to reduce the course doses of antibiotics. Galavit allows to increase the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy and reduce its side effects.

Incompatibilities with other drugs have not been reported.

Special Instructions

The drug contains sorbitol, patients with rare hereditary pathologies associated with fructose and sorbitol intolerance should not take the drug.

The drug has no effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.
