Folio – Biologically active food supplement that make up for the deficiency of folic acid and iodine.

Folic acid is involved in hematopoiesis. Its deficiency leads to an accumulation of plasma homocysteine, a marker of atherosclerotic changes. During pregnancy, folic acid deficiency increases the risk of birth defects caused by neural tube defects, as well as hypotrophy and prematurity.

Iodine contributes to normal functioning of the thyroid gland, is part of its hormones (thyroxine, triiodothyronine). Iodine deficiency leads to the development of endemic goiter and cretinism.

Indications

As an additional source of folic acid and iodine for women during pregnancy and lactation.

Composition

Special Instructions

Optimization of folic acid and iodine supply is desirable immediately after discontinuation of contraceptives.

In case of thyroid disease or when using other iodine preparations, it is necessary to consult a physician before using the drug.
