Synopsis
The beneficial effects of flax seeds are due to the presence of a large number of coating substances (mucus and linamarin glycoside) and to the presence of oil. When taken internally the coating substances protect the sensitive nerve endings of the gastrointestinal mucous membrane from irritation and this prevents the development of inflammatory diseases, especially in case of increased secretory activity of the stomach.
Flax seed oil is a source of 65-90% essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), of which 55-70% are attributed to linolenic acid which is classified as OMEGA 3 PUFA and 10-20% to linoleic acid which is classified as OMEGA 6 PUFA.
The ratio of omega 6/omega 3 PUFAs in flax seed oil is optimal for optimal nutrition.
Flax seed oil contains dietary fiber which helps to cleanse the body, normalize digestion and improve intestinal microflora.
Flax seeds entering the large intestine continue to swell, loosen its contents and facilitate the movement of feces, which has a positive effect on functional constipation and obesity.
