Entherosgel is an enterosorbent, enveloping, anti-diarrheal, detoxifying preparation based on organic silicon, designed for the removal of toxic substances from the body and the gastrointestinal tract.

Entherosgel has a structure of silicon-organic matrix (molecular sponge) of hydrophobic nature which is characterized by adsorptive action only against medium molecular weight toxic metabolites (molecular weight from 70 to 1000).

Entherosgel selectively adsorbs from the intestinal content and blood (permeably from the capillaries of the intestinal mucosa villi) medium molecular weight endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of different nature: bacterial toxins, products of incomplete metabolism, allergens, antigens, viruses, drugs and poisons, incorporated radionuclides. Adsorbs some products of metabolism, including excess bilirubin, urea, creatinine, cholesterol and lipid complexes, metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicity. It does not adsorb trace elements.

Entherosgel stops symptoms of toxemia and disbacteriosis, improves the function of the intestines, liver and kidneys, normalizes the functions of the hematopoietic and immune systems.

Does not affect saprophytic microflora, promotes parietal digestion and stimulates intestinal peristalsis. As a result of selective adhesion Enterosgel destroys pathogenic microorganisms and removes their particles containing endo- and exotoxins.

Entherosgel has anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines and prevents the occurrence of erosive lesions.

Entherosgel is non-toxic and harmless, it has an organic surface and is fully compatible with tissues and substrates of the body; it is chemically inert and does not cause intestinal atony. It is used in children from the 1st month of life.

Entherosgel paste is more convenient to use as it does not require prior preparation. The fine-dispersed form of Enterosgel paste significantly increases sorption activity, and hence its effectiveness compared to the gel.

Indications

In adults and children as a detoxifying agent:

– acute and chronic intoxication of various origin;

– acute poisoning with potent and poisonous substances, including drugs and alcohol, alkaloids, salts of heavy metals:

– acute intestinal infections of any genesis as part of complex therapy (toxicoinfections. Salmonellosis, dysentery, diarrheal syndrome of non-infectious origin, dysbacteriosis);

– purulent-septic diseases accompanied by severe intoxication, as part of the complex therapy;

– food and drug allergies;

– hyperbilirubia (viral hepatitis) and hyperazotemia (chronic renal failure);

– for the prevention of chronic intoxication in workers of harmful industries (occupational intoxication by chemical agents of polytropic action, xenobiotics, incorporated radionuclides, compounds of lead, mercury, arsenic, oil products, organic solvents, nitrogen oxides, carbon, fluorides and salts

How to take, the dosage

Enterosgel in the form of hydrogel is taken orally in the form of an aqueous suspension. To get the suspension the necessary amount of Enterosgel is thoroughly grinded in 1/4 cup of water and taken with water. It is recommended to prepare a fresh suspension before each intake of Enterosgel.

Entherosgel paste can be used without preparing a suspension orally directly and with water.

Entherosgel is taken orally 3 times a day between meals and medication (1.5-2 hours before or 2 hours after a meal).

A single dose of Enterosgel:

For adults and adolescents (from 14 years of age) – 1 tablespoon (15 g)

For children from 7 to 14 years – 1 dessert spoon (10 g)

2 to 7 years old – 1 teaspoon (5 g)

From 1 to 2 years old – 2 teaspoons divided into 3 to 4 doses

under 1 year old – 1 teaspoon divided into 3 to 4 doses.

The daily dose of Enterosgel for adults is 45 g, for children up to 7 years old – 15-20 g.

The duration of the treatment of Enterosgel in case of acute poisoning is not less than 10 days and in case of chronic intoxication and allergic conditions – 2-3 weeks. The course can be repeated upon the doctor’s recommendation.
