Dolgit, cream 5% 20 g

The drug has a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect. It suppresses the production of inflammatory mediators. It indiscriminately blocks cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) and has inhibitory effect on the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), prostacyclin (PGI2) and thromboxane B2 (TV2). Analgesic effect is most pronounced in pain of inflammatory nature. Causes reduction or disappearance of pain syndrome, including pain at rest and on movement; reduces morning stiffness and joint swelling. Helps increase range of motion. In addition to its anti-inflammatory effect, ibuprofen reduces platelet aggregation in the inflamed area, as well as migration of leukocytes and release of lysosomal enzymes in the inflamed area.

Ibuprofen penetrates into deeper tissues (subcutaneous tissue, muscles, joints, synovial fluid) and reaches therapeutic concentrations in the skin when the cream is applied. The therapeutic effect in the area of application is achieved by direct distribution through the skin to the target tissues. In a small amount is determined in blood plasma. With the recommended method of application, the concentration in synovial fluid is about 2 µg/ml.

Composition

The 100 g cream contains 5 g of the active ingredient ibuprofen, auxiliary substances: medium-chain triglycerides, purified water, glyceryl monostearate, propylene glycol, macrohol-100-stearate, macrohol-30-stearate, xanthan gum (Keltrol F), methyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium, lavender oil, orange blossom oil (Neroli oil).

How to take, the dosage

Interaction

Physician should be consulted before using Dolgit cream if other drugs are used.

There have been no interactions with other drugs when ibuprofen is used topically.

Special Instructions

The drug should not be applied to open wound surfaces, damaged skin or mucous membranes (avoid eye contact).

In case of ineffectiveness of the current therapy, consult a physician.

In severe cases, it is recommended to combine local therapy with oral NSAIDs.

Pediatric use Dolgit in cream form should not be used in children under 12 years of age without medical advice.

Impact on driving and operating ability Use of Dolgit cream has no effect on activities requiring increased attention, coordination of movements, high speed of mental and physical reactions (including driving, operating machinery).

Side effects

Overdose

Cases of overdose with Dolgit cream have not been described.

Symptoms: nausea and vomiting may occur if the drug is accidentally swallowed.

Treatment: the stomach should be cleared (cause vomiting, take activated charcoal) and see a doctor. Further treatment is symptomatic, if necessary.
