Bismuth subcitrate is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted mainly with the feces. A small amount of bismuth in the plasma is excreted by the kidneys. De-Nol is gastroprotective, antiulcer, antibacterial. Pharmacodynamics An antiulcer agent with bactericidal activity against Helicobacter pylori.

How to take, the dosage

Overly with a small amount of water.

Adults and children over 12 years of age – 1 tablet 4 times daily 30 minutes before a meal and at night or 2 tablets 2 times daily 30 minutes before a meal.

Children from 8 to 12 years of age – 1 tablet 2 times a day 30 minutes before a meal.

In children from 4 to 8 years of age, the dose is 8 mg/kg/day; the daily dose is divided into 2 doses. It is taken 30 minutes before a meal.

The course of treatment is 4-8 weeks. For the next 8 weeks, no medications containing bismuth should be used.

For eradication of Helicobacter pylori it is reasonable to use De-Nol® in combination with other antibacterial agents having anti-Helicobacterial activity.

Interaction

Half an hour before and after ingestion of DeNol® is not recommended for other drugs, as well as intake of food and liquids, in particular antacids, milk, fruit and fruit juices.

This is because they may interfere with the effectiveness of De-Nol® if taken at the same time.

Special Instructions

The drug should not be used for more than 8 weeks. It is also not recommended to exceed the established daily doses for adults and children during treatment. No other drugs containing bismuth should be used during treatment with De-Nol®. At the end of the course of treatment with the drug in the recommended doses, the concentration of the active substance in blood plasma does not exceed 3-58 µg/L, and intoxication is observed only at concentrations above 100 µg/L.

When using De-Nol®, stool staining due to bismuth sulfide formation is possible. Sometimes a slight darkening of the tongue is noted.

Contraindications

Side effects

The digestive system: nausea, vomiting, more frequent stools, constipation are possible. These phenomena are not dangerous to health and are temporary.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, skin itching.

Overdose

Similarities
