Pharmaceutical action:

Immunomodulator. Cycloferon® is a low molecular weight interferon inducer, which determines a wide range of its biological activity (antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory).

Cicliferon® is effective against herpes viruses, influenza and other pathogens of acute respiratory diseases.

It has direct antiviral action by suppressing viral reproduction at early stages (1-5 days) of the infection process, reducing the virulence of the viral progeny, resulting in the formation of defective viral particles. It increases nonspecific resistance of the organism against viral and bacterial infections.

Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration of the drug in a daily dose, Cmax in plasma is reached after 2-3 hours, the concentration gradually decreases by 8 hours, after 24 hours the active substance is found in trace amounts.

The T1/2 is 4-5 hours. Administration of the drug Cycloferon® in recommended doses does not cause conditions for its cumulation in the body.

Indications

In adults in complex therapy: influenza and acute respiratory diseases; herpetic infection.

In children from four years of age in complex therapy: influenza and acute respiratory diseases; herpetic infection.

In children over four years of age for the prevention of influenza and acute respiratory diseases.

Special instructions

Cycloferon does not affect the ability to drive vehicles.

For diseases of the thyroid gland, consultation with an endocrinologist is necessary.

If the next dose of the drug is missed, you should continue the course according to the started regimen as soon as possible, without taking into account the time interval and doubling the dosage.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the components of the drug,
pregnancy,
lactation period,
children under 4 years of age (due to imperfect swallowing),
decompensated cirrhosis of the liver.

Interaction

Cycloferon is compatible with all drugs used in the treatment of these diseases (interferons, chemotherapy, symptomatic drugs, etc.). Enhances the effect of interferons and nucleoside analogues. Reduces the side effects of chemotherapy, interferon therapy.

Overdose

Symptoms: vomiting, drowsiness, tremor, excessive decrease in blood pressure, coma.

Treatment: gastric lavage, taking activated carbon, symptomatic therapy. There is no specific antidote.

Cycloferon is an antiviral drug intended for the treatment of influenza, acute respiratory diseases and herpes. Cycloferon is prescribed as part of complex therapy for adults and children over 4 years of age. The tablets are taken 30 minutes before meals, 1 time per day, swallowed whole, with ½ glass of water. Children from 4 to 6 years old are prescribed 1 tablet (150 mg), from 7 to 11 years old – 2-3 tablets (300-450 mg), adults and adolescents from 12 years old – 3-4 tablets (450-600 mg).
