Pharmacodynamics

A combined drug, the action of which is caused by the properties of its constituent substances. It has sedative and antispasmodic effects, moderate cardiotonic effect (slows the rhythm and increases the force of the heart beats), and has moderate hypotensive properties.

Ethylbromisovalerianat has sedative and antispasmodic effect caused by irritation, mainly of receptors in the oral cavity and nasopharynx, reduction of reflex excitability in central nervous system and increased inhibition in cortical and subcortical structures of the brain, also by decrease of activity of central vasomotor centers and direct local spasmolytic effect on smooth muscles.

The motherwort herb has a pronounced sedative (sedative), moderate cardiotonic (slows rhythm and increases the force of heart contractions), moderate hypotensive action.

Pearmint oil has reflex vasodilatory, antispasmodic, mild choleretic, antiseptic action. The mechanism of action is related to the ability to irritate the “cold” receptors of the oral mucosa and reflexively dilate mainly vessels of the heart and brain. It eliminates the phenomena of flatulence by irritating the mucosal receptors of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), increasing intestinal peristalsis.

Pharmacokinetics

There are no data on the pharmacokinetics of ethylbromisovalerianate, motherwort and peppermint components.

Indications

As a symptomatic (sedative and vasodilator) in functional disorders of the cardiovascular system.

Neurosis-like conditions accompanied by increased irritability, with sleep disturbances, tachycardia, states of agitation with marked autonomic manifestations.

As an antispasmodic agent – in intestinal spasms.

Composition

Per tablet:

The active ingredients:

Posterberry herb extract (motherwort extract dry) – 28.00 mg,

ethyl bromisovalerianate (ethyl ester of alpha-bromisovaleric acid) -16.40 mg,

peppermint leaf oil (peppermint oil) – 1.16 mg.

Auxiliary substances:

Lactose (lactose monohydrate) – 158.42 mg,

Betadex (beta-cyclodextrin) – 111.10 mg,

Potato starch – 71.12 mg,

magnesium aluminosilicate (Neusilin UFL 2) – 8.00 mg,

talc – 4.00 mg,

magnesium stearate – 1.80 mg.

How to take, the dosage

To be taken orally, before meals, with water.

For tablets, 0.58 mg + 14.00 mg + 8.20 mg: adults 2 tablets 2 times a day.

For tablets, 1.16 mg + 28.00 mg + 16.40 mg: adults 1 tablet 2 times a day.

In case of tachycardia, it is possible to increase the single dose to 3 tablets. The maximum daily dose is 6 tablets.

The course of treatment is 4 weeks (28 days). The duration of use can be increased upon a doctor’s recommendation.

Interaction

When using the drug Corvalol Fito, tablets with drugs depressing the central nervous system (sedatives, hypnotics, neuroleptics, tranquilizers) mutual enhancement of effects is possible.

It increases the effect of antispasmodic, analgesic drugs.

Alcohol increases the effect of the drug and its toxicity.

Special Instructions

There is no experience of using the drug in children under 18 years of age, during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Long-term use of the drug in high doses is not recommended due to the possible toxic effect of bromine cumulation in the body.

Alcohol should not be consumed during the use of the drug.

Synopsis

Round, flat cylindrical tablets, light brown with flecks of lighter and darker color, beveled and beveled, with a faint characteristic odor.

Contraindications

– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

– severe renal and/or hepatic impairment;

– pregnancy;

– lactation (breast-feeding) period;

– childhood under 18 years of age (efficacy and safety not established);

– lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption.

If you have any of the above diseases/conditions, be sure to consult your doctor before taking the drug.

Side effects

Immune system disorders: allergic reactions;

Central nervous system disorders: drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, reduced ability to concentrate;

Gastrointestinal tract disorders: dyspepsia.

The above-mentioned phenomena disappear when the drug dose is reduced or the drug is discontinued.

In prolonged use of high doses of the drug it is possible to develop drug addiction as well as bromine accumulation in the body and development of bromism which manifestation are: depressed mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, movement coordination disorders, drug addiction.

If any of the side effects listed in the instructions worsen, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Overdose

Overdose is possible with frequent and prolonged use of the drug. If the recommended doses are exceeded, dose-dependent side effects may increase.

Symptoms: weakness, drowsiness, dizziness. With long-term use, chronic bromine intoxication may occur (see section Side effects).

Treatment: symptomatic.

Pregnancy use

The safety of using the drug Corvalol Fito, tablets in pregnancy has not been established, the use of the drug during pregnancy is contraindicated.

Data on penetration of the drug into breast milk is not available, so if you need to use the drug during lactation should consider stopping breast-feeding.
