Cordiamine, drops 25% 25 ml

An analeptic drug of mixed type of action (central nervous system stimulation, direct and reflex excitation of respiratory and vasomotor centers). Mechanism of action consists of 2 components: central and peripheral. The central mechanism is related to the direct effect on the vasomotor center of the medulla oblongata, resulting in its excitation and mediated increase in systemic blood pressure (especially when this center is initially inhibited). Peripheral component of the mechanism of action is associated with excitation of carotid sinus chemoreceptors, which leads to increased frequency and depth of respiratory movements. There is no direct effect on the cardiovascular system.

Indications

Collapse, asphyxia (including newborns), shock, circulatory and respiratory disorders in infectious diseases.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 ml: nikethamide 250 mg

Supplementary substances: water d/I up to 1 ml.

How to take, the dosage

Adults – 15-40 drops 2-3 times a day. The highest single dose for adults is 60 drops, the daily dose is 180 drops.
Children under 10 years of age – the same number of drops as the number of years, 2-3 times a day.
Children over 10 years – 10 drops 2-3 times a day.

Interaction

Enhances the effects of psychostimulants, antidepressants. It reduces the effect of narcotic analgesics, hypnotics, antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics), anxiolytics, antiepileptic drugs.
The effect is reduced by aminosalicylic acid, opiniazide, phenothiazine derivatives and drugs for general anesthesia.
The convulsive effect of the drug is enhanced by reserpine.

Special Instructions

Perform with caution when driving a car, and other vehicles.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, predisposition to seizures, epilepsy, seizures (including history), hyperthermia in children.

Side effects

Tension, muscle twitching (starting with the circular muscles of the mouth), facial hyperemia, itching of the skin, vomiting, arrhythmias, allergic reactions.

Overdose

Symptoms: tonic-clinical seizures. Treatment: symptomatic.
