How to take, the dosage

Outwardly.
The drug consumption per application is on average 0.5 cm of gel on the scar surface of 20-25 cm2. Adults apply the drug 2-3 times a day, children over 1 year old apply the drug 1-2 times a day. The gel is applied as a thin layer and lightly rubbed into the scar tissue. The course of treatment for fresh scars (including ankylosis (contractures) of the joints, traumatic tendon contractures, stretch marks after pregnancy) is on average 4 weeks. In case of long-standing hard scars (including ankylosis (contractures) of joints, traumatic tendon contractures, stretch marks after pregnancy) an occlusive dressing with gel is applied at night.

The course of treatment averages 3-6 months.

In case of Dupuytren’s contracture the course of treatment averages 12 months.

For preventive measures the phase after wound elimination is used (not applied to granulation).

Special Instructions

To enhance the effect of the drug, apply it to previously steamed skin. It may be used in combination with physiotherapeutic measures.

In the treatment of fresh scars it is necessary to avoid ultraviolet irradiation, exposure to cold and intensive massage.

The drug effect during pregnancy, while lactating and in children under 1 year old has not been studied.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
Has no effect.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children under 1 year of age.

Side effects

Usually Contraktubex is very well tolerated, even with long-term use.

Most often there were skin reactions at the site of application.

Classification of the frequency of adverse reactions: Very common (> 1/10), common (> 1/100 to< 1/10), infrequent (> 1/1000 to < 1/100), rare (> 1/10000 to < 1/1000), very rare (< 1/10000), frequency not determined (no data on the incidence of adverse reactions currently available).

Skin: frequently: itching, erythema, telangiectasia, scar atrophy; infrequently: skin hyperpigmentation, skin atrophy.

The following spontaneous adverse reactions have also been reported:

Infectious diseases: frequency not determined: pustular rash.
Immune system disorders: frequency not established: hypersensitivity (allergic reactions).
Nervous system disorders: frequency not established: paresthesia.
Skin disorders: frequency not established: urticaria, rash, itching, erythema, skin irritation, papules, burning sensation, feeling of tension, contact dermatitis.

General disorders and disorders at the application site: frequency not established: swelling, pain and peeling at the application site.

Itching, which is a manifestation of natural processes in the formation of the scar, usually does not require discontinuation of the drug.
