Composite preparation containing vitamin DZ, micro- and macroelements. It regulates phosphorus-calcium metabolism, compensates relative deficit of microelements and vitamin DZ, prevents diseases of musculoskeletal system, promotes strengthening of bone system and joints.
Calcium contained in the preparation is a building component of bone tissue, regulates permeability of the vascular wall, participates in regulation of conductivity in synapses and neuro-muscular connections, participates in the contractile activity of skeletal and smooth muscles, and is an essential component of blood clotting. Calcium is represented in the preparation by carbonate and citrate salts. Calcium carbonate contains the maximum amount of elemental calcium. Calcium citrate reduces dependence of calcium bioavailability on state of gastrointestinal mucosa, prevents concrements formation in urinary system even in case of long-term use, reduces excessive production of parathormone.
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) contributes to the adequate absorption of calcium, is involved in the process of regeneration and building bone tissue.
Zinc is an integral component of various body enzymes (over 200 species), which synthesize proteins and nucleic acids. It also ensures gene expression, regeneration and growth of cells. It positively influences the activity of alkaline phosphatase enzyme.
Manganese promotes synthesis of substances that are components of bone and cartilage tissue (glycosaminoglycans). Potentiates the calcium-saving ability of vitamin D.
Copper is involved in the formation of elastin, collagen. It helps to stop the phenomenon of demineralization of bone structures.
Boron normalizes the activity of hormone of the parathyroid gland – parathormone. The latter is involved in the metabolism of calcium, cholecalciferol, phosphorus and magnesium. Effect on mineral metabolism of parathormone does not depend on the intake of vitamin D3.

How to take, the dosage
Ingestion.
Children from 5 to 12 years old take 1 tablet. 1 time a day with meals.
Adults and children over 12 years – 1 tablet 2 times a day with meals.
When pregnant and breastfeeding: from the 20th week of pregnancy and during the whole period of breastfeeding – 1 tablet 2 times a day.
The minimal course of the preparation in case of osteoporosis in combination therapy for adults is 3 months; the longer course must be taken after consulting the doctor.
The minimal course of the drug for prevention of osteoporosis for adults is 1 month, longer course – after consultation with a doctor.
The minimal course of the preparation for children and adults in case of calcium and microelement deficiency is 2-3 months; the longer course must be taken after consulting a doctor.
The preparation can be repeated 1 month after the end of treatment.
Interaction
In concomitant use of Calcemin with vitamin A toxicity of vitamin D3 is reduced. Phenytoin, barbiturates, GCS reduce the effectiveness of vitamin D3. Laxatives reduce absorption of vitamin D3. GCS, hormonal contraceptives for systemic use, levothyroxine impair absorption of calcium ions.
In case of concomitant use of tetracyclines the interval between doses should be at least 3 hours, bisphosphonates and sodium fluoride (their absorption is impaired) – at least 2 hours. Calcemin drug co-administration with cardiac glycosides increases their toxicity (ECG and clinical condition monitoring is necessary), with thiazide diuretics – the risk of hypercalcaemia increases, with furosemide and other loop diuretics – renal calcium excretion increases.
Calcemin should not be used simultaneously with calcium channel blockers. It is not recommended combined administration with antacids containing aluminum due to decrease of their effectiveness.
Special Instructions
The dose should not exceed the one indicated in the instructions because increased calcium intake may inhibit the absorption of iron, zinc, and other essential minerals in the intestine.
Synopsis
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug, hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria, nephrolthiasis, vitamin D3 hypervitaminosis, severe renal insufficiency, active tuberculosis, decalcifying tumors (myeloma, bone metastases, sarcoidosis), children under 5 years old.
With caution:
Benign granulomatosis, administration of cardiac glycosides and thiazide diuretics, pregnancy, period of lactation.
Overdose
Symptoms: Possible constipation, nausea, and vomiting.
The manifestations of overdose also include hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria, leading to calcium accumulation in the soft tissues and irreversible changes in the kidneys and cardiovascular system.
