Boric acid is an antiseptic agent, also has insecticidal (including antipediculosis) effect. It coagulates proteins (including enzyme proteins) of the microbial cell, breaks the permeability of the cell membrane.
5% aqueous solution inhibits phagocytosis processes, 2 4% solution inhibits bacterial growth and development. It has an irritating effect on mucous membranes, granulation tissues. Being absorbed it has systemic toxic effects.
Pharmacokinetics
It penetrates well through skin and mucous membranes; it is slowly excreted and may accumulate in organs and tissues. Excreted by the kidneys In 50% (within 12 hours), the remainder within 5-7 days.

How to take, the dosage
In case of skin diseases the affected surfaces are treated or used in the form of lotions with 3% solution in ethanol.
In acute and chronic otitis media it is injected by 3-5 drops or inserted as a turunda into the external auditory canal 2-3 times a day in the form of 3% solution in ethanol.
Special Instructions
Avoid application to mucous membranes and large areas of the body.
