Pharmacological properties

Antihemorrhoidal combination drug. The drug Anuzol has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, analgesic, local anti-inflammatory, astringent and drying effects.

Special instructions

The possible penetration of belladonna alkaloids through the blood-brain barrier and possible interactions with drugs that affect the central nervous system should be taken into account. In therapeutic doses, belladonna alkaloids have a moderate stimulating effect on the central nervous system, in large doses – an stimulating effect, in toxic doses – agitation, hallucinations, followed by inhibition and coma. The simultaneous administration of suppositories with belladonna extract and other drugs with anticholinergic activity should be avoided, since the likelihood of side effects increases.

Belladonna extract helps to reduce the rate of absorption of concomitantly used medications and other drugs due to inhibition of the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration, speed of psychomotor reactions and good vision.

Composition

Composition for 1 suppository

Active ingredients:

belladonna extract thick – 20 mg (containing total alkaloids in terms of hyoscyamine 1.5% – 0.3 mg),

bismuth tribromophenolate and bismuth oxide complex (xeroform) – 100 mg,

zinc sulfate heptahydrate – 50 mg;

excipients: glycerol, purified water, distilled monoglycerides, solid fat (Vitepsol (brands N 15, W 35), Supposir (brands NA 15, NAS 50)) – until a suppository weighing 2250 mg is obtained.

Pregnancy

The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated. If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, heart failure in the stage of decompensation, tachyarrhythmia, myasthenia gravis, intestinal atony, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy with impaired urine outflow, pregnancy, lactation, children (up to 12 years).

With caution

Autonomic neuropathy, hyperthyroidism, coronary heart disease, chronic heart failure, mitral stenosis, kidney disease, hiatal hernia, reflux esophagitis, increased body temperature (the likelihood of developing fever and heat stroke due to suppression of the activity of the sweat glands).

Side Effects

Dryness of the oral mucosa, thirst, constipation, diarrhea, tachycardia, palpitations, mydriasis, accommodation paresis, headache, dizziness, sleep disturbance, drowsiness, allergic reactions, burning in the anus. In these cases, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

Interaction

When used simultaneously with tricyclic antidepressants, the m-anticholinergic effects of the drug may be enhanced (dry mouth, impaired accommodation, tachycardia, constipation, etc.).

When used with drugs that increase heart rate (including procainamide), severe tachycardia is possible.

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors increase the risk of side effects and enhance the positive chrono- and bathmotropic effect; when used together with cardiac glycosides, the positive bathmotropic effect is enhanced.

When taken simultaneously with belladonna (belladonna) and ethanol (alcohol), the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system (CNS) may be enhanced.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, psychomotor agitation, convulsions, urinary retention, decreased sweating, hyperthermia.

In case of overdose, you should immediately stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

Treatment: symptomatic.

In a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 15 °C.

Shelf life

3 years. Do not use the drug after the expiration date indicated on the package.
