Pharmgroup:
The drug with antimicrobial and local anesthetic action for local use in ENT practice and dentistry.
Pharmaceutical action:
The Anti-Angin formula is a drug with antimicrobial and local anesthetic action for local use in ENT practice and dentistry. Antibacterial activity: the antiseptic chlorhexidine contained in the product destroys pathogens of infectious diseases of the mouth and throat ( Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Corynebacterium spp., Haemophilus Influenzae, Klebsiella spp.).
Antifungal activity: Chlorhexidine is active in candidomycosis.
Local anesthetic activity: due to the local anesthetic tetracaine.
Vitamin C increases resistance to infectious diseases.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, the initial stage of tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontal disease, conditions after tonsillectomy or tooth extraction).
Pharmacological effect
Chlorhexidine has a bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum of action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and is active against Candida albicans. Chlorhexidine is particularly active against Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus salivarius, Escherichia coli and anaerobic bacteria. Less effective against such types of microorganisms as Streptococcus spp., Proteus, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella spp., Veillonella spp.
The anesthetic tetracaine has a local anesthetic effect. The anesthetic effect occurs 1-2 minutes after application.
Ascorbic acid is involved in the process of collagen synthesis and tissue regeneration, regulation of redox processes, and enhances immune responses. By reducing capillary permeability, it helps reduce inflammation and swelling of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and pharynx.
Special instructions
It is not recommended to use simultaneously with drugs for the treatment of the oral cavity and pharynx containing iodine (Lugol’s solution, povidone-iodine).
Ascorbic acid, which is part of the drug, may change the results of some laboratory tests, which should be reported when conducting tests.

Excipients: dextrose syrup, sucrose, levomenthol, mint oil flavoring, anethole, banana flavoring, carmine red dye (E120), purified water.
Pregnancy
The use of the drug is contraindicated in the first trimester. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the drug should be used with caution, as prescribed by a doctor.
The drug should be prescribed with caution during lactation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, damage or inflammation of the mucous membranes in highly vascularized areas, phenylketonuria, children (up to 10 years).
With caution: during pregnancy and lactation, diabetes mellitus, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalosis and urolithiasis.
Side Effects
Allergic reactions are possible (in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug).
Exceeding the recommended duration of therapy may cause short-term taste disturbances; Damage to tooth enamel (staining, tartar deposits) is also possible.
Interaction
Chlorhexidine is not compatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose). Concomitant use with iodine is not recommended. Ethanol enhances the effect of the drug.
Tetracaine reduces the antibacterial activity of sulfonamide drugs.
Vasoconstrictors prolong the effect and reduce the toxicity of tetracaine.
Ascorbic acid increases the concentration of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines in the blood. Improves the absorption of iron preparations in the intestines. Reduces the effectiveness of heparin and indirect anticoagulants. Increases the risk of developing crystalluria during treatment with salicylates and short-acting sulfonamides, reduces the blood concentration of oral contraceptives.
Overdose
Symptoms: dizziness, general weakness, cyanosis, agitation, anxiety, muscle tremors, breathing problems, nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: gastric lavage, administration of saline laxatives; symptomatic therapy. Symptoms of chlorphenamine overdose: dizziness, agitation, sleep disturbances, depression, convulsions.
Treatment: symptomatic.
