Akriderm GC, ointment 15 g

Acriderm GC is a combined drug with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antibacterial and antifungal (fungicidal) effect.

Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the group of aminoglycosides, has a bactericidal effect. Gram-negative microorganisms – Proteus spp. (in-positive and indo-positive), Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Campylobacter spp., Staphylococcus spp. (methicillin-resistant) are highly sensitive.

Sensitive: Enterococcus faecalis, Serratia spp., Pseudomonas spp., Acinetobacter spp., Citrobacter spp. Resistant: Neisseria meningitidis, Treponema pallidum, anaerobic microbes: Streptococcus spp. (except Streptococcus pneumoniae), Enterococcus faecalis; Providencia rettgeri. Betamethasone is a glucocorticosteroid that has local anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, anti-allergic effect.

Clotrimazole is an antifungal agent from the group of imidazole derivatives for topical use. It acts by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, which is a part of the cell membrane of fungi. It has a wide spectrum of action. It is active against pathogenic dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagro- phytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis), yeasts and molds (Candida spp., Torulopsis glabrata, Rhodotorula spp., Pityrosporum orbiculare).

Indications

The reason for using Akriderm is skin diseases that show good susceptibility to glucocorticosteroid therapy. The ointmentAcrider GC is applied to the affected areas of skin, rubbing gently, a small amount twice a day. The duration of treatment is determined individually and depends on the nosological form and severity of the disease. With dermatomycosis of feet average duration of treatment is 2-4 weeks. If clinical improvement does not occur soon, it is necessary to specify the diagnosis or change the treatment regimen.

Eye contact should be avoided.

In case of resistant bacterial or fungal microflora the drug should be withdrawn, appropriate therapy should be prescribed.

Because of the fact that in children the area of skin in relation to body weight is larger than in adults and also the epidermis is underdeveloped, when using the drug externally more of the active substances can be absorbed and therefore there is a greater risk of systemic side effects. The drug should be used in children for the shortest time possible and with all precautionary measures taken.

Overdose

Symptoms:phenomena of hypercorticism.

Treatment:gradual withdrawal of the drug. Symptomatic therapy. If necessary, correction of electrolyte abnormalities.

Pregnancy use

During pregnancy (especially in the first trimester) topical use of the ointment in pregnant women is allowed only in cases when the estimated benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus. In such cases, the use of the drug should be of short duration and limited to small areas of the skin.

It is not known whether the components of the drug are excreted with the breast milk. Therefore, when prescribing Acriderm GC ointment during lactation, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding.
