The drug is used for the treatment and prevention of chronic heart failure in dogs and for blood pressure control in cats

VASOSAN is used in dogs in chronic heart failure, in arterial hypertension, in cardiomyopathies of various genesis and for prevention of myocardial ischemia. In cats the drug is used to reduce systolic pressure (if systolic pressure value is between 160 mm Hg and above).

Composition

Vasosan 1.25: ramipril – 1.25 mg/table, excipients.
Vasosan 2.5: ramipril – 2.5 mg/table, excipients.
Vasosan 5: ramipril – 5 mg/table, excipients.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is given orally once a day, on an empty stomach. Especially large animals (weight over 50 kg) can be given a daily dose of the drug in two doses. The daily therapeutic dose for dogs is 0.125 mg of the active substance per 1 kg of animal weight.
In absence of the effect of blood pressure decrease during VASOSAN administration the daily dose may be increased to 0.25 mg/kg of animal weight or diuretics may be added into the treatment scheme in commonly used doses to intensify therapeutic effect. In case of pulmonary congestion in 2 weeks after the start of using Vasosan the daily dose can be increased to 0.25 mg/kg. Vasosan is prescribed in cats if it is not possible to eliminate the cause that caused the increase in blood pressure (e.g., hyperthyroidism).
