Active ingredients of the drug Hepatolux contribute to the normalization of protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, have strong hepatoprotective properties, increase antioxidant, barrier, homeostatic and metabolic function of the liver. Extracts of medicinal plants have choleretic, hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic (lowering blood sugar levels) effect, accelerate the process of deposition of substances in the liver. Methionine is an essential amino acid that regulates the nitrogen balance in the body. It contains a mobile methyl group and is involved in methylation processes, providing the synthesis of choline, adrenaline, creatine and other biologically important compounds, the neutralization of toxic products and the formation of phospholipids. Inhibits deposition of neutral fat in the liver, has a lipotropic effect (removal of excess fat from the liver). Essential phospholipids (lecithin) belong to the class of highly specialized lipids and are esters of glycerophosphoric acid. They are the main elements in the structure of the cell membrane and mitochondria, regulate lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, improve the functional state of the liver and its detoxifying function, contribute to the preservation and restoration of hepatocyte structure; inhibit the formation of connective tissue in the liver. L-arginine – an aliphatic amino acid that accelerates the excretion of products of protein metabolism, lowers cholesterol, improves enzymatic systems and tissue trophism. Artichoke field leaf extract has a choleretic, detoxifying, hepatoprotective, hypolipidemic and diuretic effect. Increases the excretion of urea, toxins (nitro compounds, alkaloids, salts of heavy metals), helps reduce blood cholesterol. Milk thistle extract (silymarin) has antioxidant and membrane stabilizing properties, prevents the accumulation of lipid hydroperoxides, thereby reducing damage to liver cells and slowing the flow of toxic substances into them. And also activates and normalizes protein and fat metabolism. Glycyrrhizic acid salt stimulates bile secretion and improves liver function, has antiviral, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects. Glycine is a regulator of metabolism, normalizes and activates the processes of protective inhibition in the central nervous system, increases the animal’s endurance. It has antioxidant and antitoxic effects. The royal jelly extract promotes rapid recovery and excretion of toxins, poisons and heavy metals from the body, normalizes intraorganic pressure, improves the immune system, improves renal and hepatic function, reduces blood sugar level, and has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, cardioprotective and adaptogenic effect.
After oral administration the drug components are well absorbed in the small intestine, including the form of biologically active products of their hydrolysis by digestive enzymes, which are transported through the intestinal wall in the lymphatic system, and the liver is partially resynthesized from them. Indications

 Administration for dogs with prophylactic and therapeutic purpose in case of nematode diseases (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, unzinariasis, ankylostomiasis, trichocephaliasis) and cestode diseases (tenidiasis, dipilidiosis, echinococcosis, difillobotriosis, mesocestodesis).

Composition

A medicinal product containing in 1 ml the active ingredients: phospholipids essential (lecithin) of plant origin from soybean seeds – 50 mg, methionine – 70 mg, glycyrrhizic acid salt – 12.5 mg, glycine – 10 mg, L- arginine – 50 mg, milk thistle seed extract (silymarin) – 15 mg, artichoke field leaf extract – 20 mg, royal jelly bee extract – 1 mg and excipients. By appearance, Hepatolux is a light yellow suspension.

How to take, the dosage

Hepatolux is administered orally individually during feeding at a dose of 0.1 ml per 1 kg of body weight twice a day or directly injected into the cheek area using a syringe dispenser. The course of application is 20-30 days, depending on the individual characteristics of the body and the nature of the course of the disease. If necessary, on the instructions of the veterinarian drug administration can be resumed after 10 days. In the chronic course of the disease the treatment course is repeated several times a year.
The use of Hepatolux does not exclude the use of other etiotropic and pathogenetic drugs. The drug is prescribed alone or as part of complex therapy.
Symptoms of overdose in animals have not been revealed.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the drug components.
It is not recommended for animals with hepatic encephalopathy and a severe form of renal failure.

Side effects

When using the drug in accordance with these instructions are not observed.

In very rare cases, a few minutes after the drug administration in animals may appear increased salivation, which spontaneously stops.
