Inspector collar refers to antiparasitic drugs.
Active substances contained in the collar have contact and systemic antiparasitic effect on the sexually mature and larval stages of fleas (Ctenocephalides canis, Ctenocephalides felis), lice (Linognathus setotus), lice (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus), ear mite (Otodectes cynotis), ixodes mites (Ixodidae) and gastrointestinal nematodes, including Toxocara spp.Toxocara spp, Toxascaris spp., Trichuris vulpis, Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma spp. parasitizing in dogs and cats.
Mechanism of action of ivermectin is its effect on the value of chlorine ions current through membranes of nervous and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. Changing chlorine ions current disrupts nerve impulses conducting that leads to paralysis and death of the parasite.
The mechanism of action of fipronil included into the collar is in blocking of GABA receptors of ectoparasites, disruption of nerve impulses transfer that leads to paralysis and death of insects and mites.
Pyriproxyphen, by disrupting hormonal balance of arthropods, causes abnormal development and sterilization of adults, preventing emergence of preimaginal phases of ectoparasites (larvae) development.
Gradually extracted from the tape surface the active substances are transported to the hair-dermis of the animal accumulating in epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, partially absorbed and getting into the systemic blood stream in small amounts.
The collar is well tolerated by animals, has no local irritating and sensitizing effect.
Recommendations for use
Inspector collar is an antiparasitic drug.
The active ingredients included in the collar have a contact and systemic antiparasitic effect on the mature and larval stages of development of fleas (Ctenocephalides canis, Ctenocephalides felis), lice (Linognathus setotus), lice eaters (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), ixodid ticks (Ixodidae) and nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract, incl. Toxocara spp., Toxascaris spp., Trichuris vulpis, Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma spp., parasitic in dogs and cats.
The mechanism of action of ivermectin is its effect on the current of chloride ions through the membranes of nerve and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chloride channels, as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite.
The mechanism of action of fipronil, which is part of the collar, is to block GABA-dependent ectoparasite receptors, disrupting the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of insects and ticks.
Pyriproxyfen, disrupting the hormonal balance of arthropods, causes developmental anomalies and sterilization of adults, preventing the appearance of preimaginal phases of development of ectoparasites (larvae).
Gradually released from the surface of the tape, the active substances are transferred to the skin and hair of the animal, accumulating in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, are partially absorbed and enter the systemic bloodstream in small quantities.
The collar is well tolerated by animals and does not have a local irritating or sensitizing effect.
