Pharmacological properties of the drug are caused by the active substance, pimobendan, which it contains. Penobendan is a benzimidazole derivative and belongs to nonsteroidal cardiotonic drugs.
The drug partially inhibits phosphodiesterase III and simultaneously increases sensitivity of cardiac myofibrils to calcium ions.Pinobendan not only increases myocardial contractile function, but also simultaneously provides arterial vasodilation.
The drug is excreted mainly through liver.

Side Effects

As a rule, dogs tolerate the drug well. Only in rare cases may increased heart rate and vomiting occur. In these cases, you need to stop the medicine until your doctor adjusts its dose.

Contraindications

Diabetes mellitus in a dog.
Congenital heart defect.
Severe liver failure.
Pregnancy of the bitch and lactation period.
