Pharmacological properties
Zinc is one of the most important micronutrients. It is a part of almost 200 enzymes that determine various metabolic processes, including protein synthesis and carbohydrate metabolism.
Zinc stimulates the synthesis of collagen and protein in regenerating tissue, has a drying and astringent effect; it stimulates insulin synthesis.
Activates erythrocyte carboangridrase and superoxide dismutase, cytosolic superoxide dismutase, glutamate dehydrogenase; alkaline phosphotase hydrolase, aminopeptidase, neutral proteases.

Indications

Zinc deficiency, Alopecia (alopecia) Prevention and treatment of zinc deficiency caused by an incomplete and unbalanced diet, absorption disorders and other conditions that impair zinc absorption and increase its loss to the body. Acrodermatitis enteropathica (enteropathic acrodermatitis), acne pustulosa and acne phlegmonosa (purulent and phlegmonous acne). During long-term treatment with glucocorticosteroids, especially during drug withdrawal. As an adjunctive treatment for wounds that are difficult to heal.

Composition

One tablet contains: active ingredient zinc sulfate monohydrate 124.0 mg, which corresponds to zinc 45.0 mg; excipients: lactose monohydrate 78.5 mg, potato starch 38.75 mg, povidon-K25 20.00 mg, talc 12.38 mg, magnesium stearate 1.37 mg; coating: Hypromellose 6.897 mg, macrogol (polyethylene glycol) 0.448 mg, titanium dioxide (E171) 1.79 mg, azorubin dye aluminum varnish (E122) 0.865 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Orally. The tablets should not be divided or chewed.
The drug Cinterhal®-Teva should be taken as recommended by the doctor.
In case of missing a dose of the drug Cinterhal®-Teva, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Entropathic acrodermatitis
Adults: 1 tablet 3 times daily 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Children over 4 years of age: 1 tablet a day.
When clinical improvement is achieved the dose is reduced to 1 tablet 2 times a day and then 1 tablet a day.
The course of treatment is continued until the complete disappearance of symptoms.

Purulent and phlegmonic acne
Adults: 1-2 tablets a day.
Children over 4 years: 1 tablet a day.
Duration of treatment course from 6 to 12 weeks.

Zinc deficiency
Adults: 1-2 tablets a day.
Children over 4 years: 1 tablet a day.
The drug is used 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals because many foods can interfere with zinc absorption. If symptoms of gastrointestinal tract irritation occur the drug can be used immediately before meals or during a meal, which in turn may decrease absorption and weaken the effect of the drug.
The course of treatment is continued until laboratory confirmation of normalization of zinc content in the body.

Interaction

Zinc salts reduce absorption of tetracyclines, copper (the drug should not be used earlier than 2 hours after taking these drugs).

Tiazide diuretics increase zinc excretion by the kidneys.

Pholic acid may slightly interfere with zinc absorption.

High doses of iron, penicillamine, and other complexing agents significantly reduce zinc absorption (should not be used before 2 hours after taking these drugs).

Complex preparations (e.g., multivitamin preparations with minerals containing zinc) – simultaneous use of several zinc-containing drugs may lead to high plasma zinc concentrations.

Diet rich in phosphates (e.g., dairy products), grain baked goods or vegetables – limit zinc absorption by binding into non-absorbable complexes; this type of food should be taken at least 2 hours after zinc salts are used.

Special Instructions

During treatment, alcohol should be avoided.
Influence on the ability to operate vehicles and mechanisms
The drug does not affect the ability to operate vehicles and mechanisms.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children under 4 years of age, lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption; period of breast-feeding. Caution Pregnancy.

Overdose

Symptoms: burning pain in the mouth and throat, watery or bloody diarrhea, belching, vomiting, decreased blood pressure, pulmonary edema, jaundice. Hematuria, anuria, collapse, seizures, hemolysis may also occur. Treatment: Take plenty of milk or water, if necessary contact a doctor or seek medical help.

Pregnancy use

Pregnancy
Zinc crosses the placental barrier. Studies on the effect of zinc salts in usual dosages on pregnancy and fetal development have not been conducted. Corresponding studies on animals were not conducted as well.

The drug may be used during pregnancy only when, in the opinion of the physician, the benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

Breastfeeding
Zinc passes into breast milk. Studies of the effect of zinc salts in usual doses in breastfeeding women have not been conducted. It is not recommended to use the drug while breast-feeding.

Influence on fertility
There is no data on the extent to which the drug Zincteral®-Teva can influence fertility.
