Xymelin Eco, spray 140 mcg/dose 10 ml

A vasoconstrictor for local use in ENT practice. Xylometazoline has alpha-adrenomimetic action. Causes narrowing of the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, thus eliminating edema and hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa.

Easily eases nasal breathing in rhinitis.

In therapeutic concentrations it does not irritate the mucosa and does not cause hyperemia. The action occurs within a few minutes after application and lasts for 10-12 hours.

Indications

Acute respiratory diseases with rhinitis (runny nose), acute allergic rhinitis, pollinosis, sinusitis, eustachitis, otitis media (for reduction of nasopharyngeal mucosa edema).

Preparing the patient for diagnostic manipulations in the nasal passages.

dinatrium edetate,

sodium chloride,

purified water.

How to take, the dosage

Xymelin is used intranasally, adults and children over 10 years – 1 dose of the spray.

Xymelin is used for not more than 7 days.

Interaction

Incompatible with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants.

Special Instructions

Should not be used for long periods of time, such as with chronic rhinitis.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the drug components, AH, tachycardia, marked atherosclerosis, glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis, thyrotoxicosis, surgical interventions on the brain sheath in the anamnesis, age under 18 years.

Side effects

Local reactions: with frequent and/or prolonged use – irritation and/or dryness of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion; rarely – swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Systemic reactions: rarely – palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, increased BP, headache, vomiting, insomnia, visual disturbances; with prolonged use in high doses – depression.

Overdose

Symptoms: worsening of side effects.

Treatment: conducting symptomatic therapy.

Pregnancy use

During pregnancy and lactation the drug should be used only after careful assessment of the risk-benefit ratio for the mother and fetus; the recommended doses should not be exceeded.

The aerosol is not prescribed for children under 3 years of age. Nasal drops 0.1% for children under 2 years old are prescribed only by a doctor.
