Active ingredient
Composition
Active ingredients:
xanthinol nicotinate – 150 mg;
Injection water up to 1 ml.
How to take, the dosage
It is used intramuscularly and intravenously.
In adults, intramuscularly administered in a dose of 300 – 900 mg (2 – 6 ml of 15% solution) daily, for 2 – 3 weeks.
Intravenously injected slowly, in a dose of 1 to 2 ml of 15% solution 1 to 2 times daily, for 5 to 10 days (the patient must be in a horizontal position).
Intravenous drip is administered at a rate of 40 to 50 drops/min, the dose averages 150 to 900 mg. Dilute with 15% solution to 10 ml in dextrose 5% solution from 200 to 500 ml or in 0.9% sodium chloride solution to 200 ml.
In acute disorders of the blood supply to tissues simultaneously with parenteral administration of xanthinol nicotinate administered orally in 300 mg 3 times per day.
In children 5 to 10 mg/kg/day.
Interaction
In concomitant use with drugs with hypotensive effect (beta-adrenoblockers, ergot alkaloids, alpha-adrenoblockers, sympatholytics, ganglioblockers), with strophantine a sharp increase in their action is possible.
In concomitant use of xanthinol nicotinate with theophylline drugs an increase in plasma concentration of theophylline and an increased risk of its toxic effects are observed.
Anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, diphenin), barbiturate drugs accelerate the metabolism of xanthinol nicotinate and decrease its plasma concentrations.
The combined oral contraceptives, macrolide antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin), interferon drugs and antifungals (ketoconazole, fluconazole) change the effect of xanthinol nicotinate, slow its metabolism and increase the plasma concentration of the drug.
When using xanthinol nicotinate in smokers, its plasma concentrations are lower than in non-smokers.
Special Instructions
With caution use in case of labile arterial pressure.
Particular caution should be used concomitantly with hypotensive drugs.
Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
Perhaps use with caution in drivers of motor vehicles and in patients engaged in potentially hazardous activities.
