Sodium Hyaluronate is a natural polymer, which is present in the tissues of the human eye.

The VISMED® effect is due to the viscoelasticity property and ability of sodium hyaluronate to bind and retain water.

VISMED® is characterized by high viscosity in the absence of blinking movement and low viscosity during blinking which ensures its effective distribution on the eye surface preventing eye dryness and irritation.

Sodium Hyaluronate has an affinity to the tear mucoglycoprotein that helps increase tear film stability.

VISMED®, just like tear fluid, contains calcium, magnesium and potassium ions required to maintain the normal structure and function of the eye cornea.

The addition of sodium citrate to VISMED® helps maintain viscoelastic properties in the presence of other ions and avoid their precipitation.

The leading mechanism in the development of dry eye syndrome is hyperosmolarity of tears and instability of the tear film. Due to its hypo-tonicity VISMED® is able to compensate for tear hyperosmolarity

VISMED® promotes regeneration of superficial keratitis by increasing cell migration.

Indications

Ophthalmic solution VISMED® (VIZMED®) in single-dose dropper tubes of 0.3 ml is used to eliminate the feeling of “dryness” and irritation of the eyes in the presence of manifestations of

dry eye syndrome and/or damage to the anterior surface of the eye with superficial keratitis and Sjogren’s syndrome and primary dry eye syndrome.

To moisturize the surface of the eyes with complaints of a feeling of “dryness” of the eyes, a feeling of a foreign body in the eye, eye fatigue caused by wearing hard or soft contact lenses,

prolonged work at a computer, being in an air-conditioned room, dust, exposure to dry air, wind or cold.

Does not contain preservatives.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the ophthalmic solution.

Side Effects

In very rare cases, irritation of the conjunctiva, a feeling of a “foreign body” in the eye, redness or burning of the eyes, and short-term blurred vision may occur.

Avoid contact of the tip of the open container with the surface of the eye or hands.

VISMED® (VIZMED®) does not contain a preservative, so the solution remaining after instillation should not be used (Fig. 3). Otherwise, the manufacturer does not guarantee the sterility of the solution.

VISMED® should not be used if there is visible damage to the container. If after instillation of VISMED® (VISMED®) complaints of “dryness” and irritation of the eye persist, you should consult a doctor.

Interaction

It is not recommended to use VISMED® (VIZMED®) simultaneously with other ophthalmic agents, as this may affect their effectiveness.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature below 25°C out of the reach of children! Do not freeze.

The product is transported by all types of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with local legislation and cargo transportation rules in force for each type of transport, at temperatures below 25 C. Do not freeze.

Shelf life

3 years when stored in original packaging.

The expiration date is indicated on the packaging.
