Pharmacodinamics

Viprosal B® is an analgesic ointment with viper venom. Its pharmacological action is due to the following ingredients: adder venom, camphor, turpentine, salicylic acid. The drug irritates sensitive receptors of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, dilates blood vessels and improves tissue trophism. It has local irritating and analgesic effect.

Neuralgia, arthralgia, myositis.

Active ingredient

Camphor, Salicylic acid, Gum turpentine, Viper venom

Composition

1 g of ointment contains:

Active ingredients: common viper venom – 0.05 MED (mouse action units), racemic camphor – 30 mg, turpentine – 30 mg and salicylic acid – 10 mg;

excipients: Vaseline, cetostearyl alcohol, solid paraffin, sodium cetylstearyl sulfate, glycerol, sodium chloride and purified water to 1 g.

How to take, the dosage

Outwardly. Adults and children over 12 years old.

Small portions of 5-10 g (1-2 tea spoons) ointment shall be applied to the painful area and rubbed into the skin depending on the pain intensity 1-2 times a day until the painful syndrome disappears.

The course of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease.

If the disease symptoms persist after 14-day treatment, consult a physician.

Special Instructions

The ointment should not be applied to damaged skin. In order to avoid severe irritation, avoid getting the ointment in the eyes and on the mucous membranes.

The ointment contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (such as contact dermatitis).

Before the first use of the drug it is recommended to apply a small amount of the ointment on the skin to determine the sensitivity to the drug components.

The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the ointment, skin lesions, skin diseases (including allergic and bacterial genesis), febrile states, pulmonary tuberculosis, cerebral and coronary circulation disorders, susceptibility to angiospasm, severe renal and hepatic disorders, general exhaustion.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Children under 12 years old.

Side effects

When using the drug, side effects in the form of itching, swelling, urticaria may occur. If any of the side effects mentioned in the instructions is aggravated, or any other side effects not specified in the instructions are noted, you should immediately inform your doctor.

Overdose

When using the drug in accordance with the instructions for use, overdose is unlikely. If the drug is accidentally swallowed, gastrointestinal distress is possible. Treatment: symptomatic.

Pregnancy use

The use of the ointment is contraindicated.
