Vinpocetine is a drug that improves blood circulation and metabolism of the brain, has vasodilator, antihypoxic, anti-aggregation action.
Inhibits phosphodiesterase and increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate in cells, which leads to a decrease of calcium in the cytoplasm of smooth muscle cells and relaxation of myofibrils.
Dilates brain vessels, increases blood flow, mainly in ischemic areas, improves the supply of oxygen to the brain.
Promotes glucose utilization and increases catecholamine levels in the central nervous system and stimulates the metabolism of noradrenaline and serotonin in brain tissue.
Decreases platelet aggregation and blood viscosity, increases the deformability of red blood cells and normalizes venous outflow against reduced resistance of cerebral vessels.
The systemic arterial pressure slightly decreases.
In old age and old age, the sensitivity of cerebral vessels to the relaxing action of Vinpocetine increases due to sensitization of the adenylate cyclic adenosine monophosphate system with aging.
Indications
Acute and chronic cerebral circulatory failure.
Discirculatory encephalopathy, accompanied by memory impairment, dizziness, and headache.
Post-traumatic encephalopathy.
Vascular diseases of the retina and choroid.
Hearing impairment of vascular or toxic origin, Meniere’s disease, dizziness of labyrinthine origin.
Vegetative-vascular dystonia in menopausal syndrome.
Pharmacological effect
Vinpocetine is a drug that improves blood circulation and brain metabolism, has a vasodilator, antihypoxic, and antiaggregation effect.
Inhibits phosphodiesterase and increases the content of cyclic adenosine monophosphate in cells, which leads to a decrease in calcium content in the cytoplasm of smooth muscle cells and relaxation of myofibrils.
Dilates brain vessels, increases blood flow, mainly in ischemic areas, improves oxygen supply to the brain.
Promotes the utilization of glucose and increases the level of catecholamines in the central nervous system, stimulates the metabolism of norepinephrine and serotonin in brain tissue.
Reduces platelet aggregation, blood viscosity, increases the deformability of erythrocytes and normalizes venous outflow while reducing cerebral vascular resistance.
Systemic blood pressure decreases slightly.
In old and senile age, the sensitivity of cerebral vessels to the relaxing effect of Vinpocetine increases, which is due to the sensitization of the adenylate cyclase system – cyclic adenosine monophosphate during aging.
Special instructions
The presence of long QT syndrome and the use of drugs that cause prolongation of the QT interval require periodic ECG monitoring.
In case of lactose intolerance, please note that one tablet contains approximately 225 mg of lactose.
