Enhances catecholamines in brain tissue.
An agent that improves cerebral blood circulation and cerebral metabolism. Inhibits phosphodiesterase activity, which promotes accumulation of CAMP in tissues.
It has a vasodilatory effect mainly on cerebral vessels due to direct myotropic antispasmodic action.
The systemic BP decreases slightly.
It improves blood supply and microcirculation in the brain tissue, decreases platelet aggregation and normalizes the rheological blood properties.
It improves the tolerance of hypoxia in the brain cells by promoting oxygen transport to the tissues by reducing the affinity of red blood cells and increasing the absorption and metabolism of glucose.
Indications
Acute and chronic insufficiency of cerebral circulation.
Discirculatory encephalopathy, accompanied by memory disorders, dizziness, headache.
Post-traumatic encephalopathy.
Vascular diseases of the retina and the vasculature of the eye.
Hearing impairment of vascular or toxic genesis, Meniere’s disease, vertigo of labyrinthine origin. Vascular dystonia in menopausal syndrome.

Composition
1 ampoule contains vinpocetine 5 mg.

How to take, the dosage
For oral administration, 5-10 mg 3 times a day.
Injections (mainly for acute conditions), single dose is 20 mg; with good tolerance, the dose is increased over 3-4 days to 1 mg/kg; treatment duration is 10-14 days.
Interaction
Concomitant parenteral use of vinpocetine and heparin may increase the risk of bleeding.
In concomitant use with warfarin a slight decrease in anticoagulant effect of warfarin has been reported.
Special Instructions
It is used orally in arrhythmia, angina pectoris, unstable BP and decreased vascular tone.
Parenterally, as a rule, is used in acute cases until the clinical picture improves, then it is transferred to oral administration. In chronic diseases vinpocetine is taken orally.
In hemorrhagic cerebral stroke parenteral administration of vinpocetine is allowed only after the acute phenomena have decreased (usually 5-7 days).
Contraindications
For parenteral use: severe CHD, severe arrhythmias. Pregnancy, hypersensitivity to vinpocetine.
Side effects
Cardiovascular system: transient arterial hypertension, tachycardia; rarely – extrasystole, increased ventricular excitation time.
