Venitan, gel 1% 50 g

Venitan is a venotonizing agent of plant origin. Aescin is contained in the seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L, semen).

It is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Its main anti-inflammatory action is during the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, when it makes the capillary walls “thick”, thus reducing their permeability, which is increased with inflammation.

Escin also has a positive effect on capillary wall fragility and increases venous wall tone when it is weakened. All this leads to a reduction of stagnation in the venous system and the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

Indications

Venous insufficiency (pain and feeling of heaviness in the legs, night cramps in the calf muscles, itching, swelling of the legs), feeling of heaviness in the legs during pregnancy or prolonged standing;
varicose veins;
injuries (bruises, soft tissue swelling, post-traumatic hematomas, sprains), infiltrates after injections.

Special instructions

The gel should not be applied to damaged skin, mucous membranes, or in the presence of purulent processes.
Do not massage during application.
If severe symptoms of venous insufficiency suddenly appear (swelling, discoloration of the skin, a feeling of tension and pain), especially in one leg, thrombosis of the veins of the lower extremities should be excluded. If these symptoms appear, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Composition

1 g of gel for external use contains:

active ingredients:

β-Escin amorphous – 10,000 mg,

heparin sodium (100 IU) – 0.714 mg;

excipients:

dexpanthenol – 5,000 mg,

allantoin powder – 3,000 mg,

sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate -3,000 mg,

sodium hydroxide -3,700 mg,

carboxypolymethylparahyen-carbopol 934 R – 12,500 mg,

simethicone emulsion – 2,000 mg,

propylene glycol – 50,000 mg,

purified water – up to 1,000 mg.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug Venitan.

With caution: tendency to thrombosis.

Side Effects

In very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, skin rash, itching) may develop.

In these cases, you should immediately stop treatment and consult a doctor.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not higher than 25°C.
