Venitan forte, gel 50 g

Venitan forte is a combined preparation for external use, contains venotonic agent and direct anticoagulant.

Escin is contained in the seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen), is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Its anti-inflammatory activity consists mainly in the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, sealing capillary walls and thus reducing their permeability, increased with inflammation.

Escin also has a positive effect on capillary wall fragility and increases the tone of the venous walls when it weakens. All this leads to a decrease of stasis in the venous system and the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

Heparin prevents blood clotting, which reduces thrombosis in the blood vessels, and also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Dexpanthenol and allantoin improve the absorption of the active ingredients through the skin and thus increase their therapeutic effect.

How to take, the dosage

A thin layer of Venitan Forte gel should be applied to the skin in and around the painful areas and rubbed in gently. The gel should be applied 1-3 times a day.

In case of inflammatory vein diseases, the gel should not be rubbed in. It is not necessary to apply all the necessary amount of gel at once; it is applied gradually, in small portions.

In case of trophic ulcers of the shin, the gel should be applied to the edges of the ulcer where there is poor circulation; care should be taken to avoid getting the gel directly on the surface of the ulcer.

In cases of varicose veins of the lower extremities, it is also recommended that elastic bandages or special compression stockings be worn.

Interaction

Venitan forte should not be applied to the affected areas of the skin at the same time as other medicines for external use.

Special Instructions

The cream should not be applied to damaged skin and should not be massaged when applied.

If symptoms of venous insufficiency appear suddenly and strongly (swelling, discoloration, tension and pain), especially in one leg, a venous thrombosis of the lower extremities should be ruled out.

If these symptoms occur, seek immediate medical attention.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.

Side effects

Allergic reactions: in some cases – hives, skin rash, itching.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose of the drug Venitan forte.

Pregnancy use

There are no indicative restrictions for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Because of the low degree of absorption of the active substances in the gel, they have no systemic action.

The necessity of the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding) is determined by the doctor individually.
