Pharmacodynamics

It has sedative effect, with moderate reflex vasodilator effect caused by irritation of the sensitive nerve endings.

Stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and other peptides, kinins (by irritating the mucosa receptors), which actively participate in the regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain sensations.

Pharmacokinetics

When administered under the tongue therapeutic effect occurs on average in 5 minutes, while up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes.

How to take, the dosage

Validol is prescribed under the tongue. The tablet should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until it is completely absorbed.

Take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

The daily frequency and duration of Validol is determined according to the effectiveness of the treatment.

If the effect is not sufficiently pronounced or if some patients have no effect within 5 minutes of taking the drug, the attending physician should be consulted to prescribe other therapy.

Interaction

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.

Sugarose/isomaltose deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption (because the drug contains sucrose).

Cautions

Persons with diabetes mellitus should be prescribed with caution (because the drug contains sucrose). 1 tablet contains 0.096 to 0.116 BE (0.106 BE).

Side effects

Overdose

Headache, nausea, agitation, decreased blood pressure, central nervous system depression.

In case of overdose the drug should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy should be prescribed.
