Pelargonium sidiformis roots liquid extract contains a large number of
biologically active substances that together determine its pharmacological activity. Therefore, data on the pharmacokinetics of individual chemical components included in the extract are not sufficient for extrapolation to the drug as a whole.

Indications

Acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract and ENT organs (sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis) as part of complex therapy.

Special instructions

During storage, liquid plant extracts tend to become cloudy, but this does not affect their pharmacological effectiveness. Since Umkalor is a natural product, slight changes in the color and taste of the drug are possible.
Due to the ethanol content of 12% (v/v) in the drug, it must be taken into account that the maximum single dose for children over 12 years of age and adults contains 0.125 g of absolute ethyl alcohol, the maximum daily dose for children over 12 years of age and adults contains 0.375 g of absolute ethyl alcohol. A single dose for children under 12 years of age contains less than 0.1 g of absolute ethyl alcohol.
When using the drug, caution should be exercised when engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms).
If there is no therapeutic effect after taking the drug for 7 days, if the temperature persists for several days, shortness of breath or bloody sputum appears, or signs of liver dysfunction appear (such as yellowing of the skin, yellowing of the whites of the eyes), you should consult a doctor.

Composition

100 g of solution contains:

Active components:
pelargonium siidoid roots liquid extract EPs 7630 (1: 8-10) – 80 g,
extractant – ethanol 11% (wt/wt)

Auxiliary components:
Glycerol 85% – 20 g

Pregnancy

Due to the lack of sufficient clinical data, the use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, predisposition to bleeding, severe liver and kidney failure, children under 1 year of age (due to the presence of ethyl alcohol in the drug), simultaneous use of anticoagulants.

With caution
Alcoholism, traumatic brain injury, brain diseases, impaired liver and kidney function (no experience of use), children from 1 year of age.

Side Effects

The assessment of the frequency of adverse reactions is based on the WHO classification:

Very frequent – ​​1/10 prescriptions (≥ 10%),
Frequent – ​​1/100 prescriptions (≥ 1%, but < 10%),
Uncommon – 1/1000 prescriptions (≥ 0.1%, but < 1%),
Rare – 1/10000 prescriptions (≥ 0.01%, but < 0.1%),
Very rare – less than 1/10000 prescriptions (<0.01%).Disorders of the immune system, skin and subcutaneous tissue
Rarely, allergic reactions may occur;

Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal diseases
Minor nosebleeds are rare;

Gastrointestinal disorders
Infrequently, there may be complaints from the gastrointestinal tract (such as nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain or diarrhea), rarely – slight bleeding of the gums;

Hepatobiliary disorders
Signs of liver dysfunction (such as yellowing of the skin, yellowing of the whites of the eyes) may appear. The cause-and-effect relationship of this manifestation with taking the drug has not been confirmed, the frequency of occurrence is unknown.

Interaction

When used simultaneously with anticoagulants, including coumarin derivatives, their anticoagulant effect may be enhanced and bleeding may occur (nosebleeds, bleeding gums).

Overdose

No cases of drug overdose have been reported to date.
The drug is well tolerated.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

2 years. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
After opening the bottle, store for no more than 6 months.
