Pharmacological action:

Troxerutin Zentiva is venotonic, angioprotective agent, bioflavonoid. Reduces capillary permeability and fragility, strengthens the vascular wall, improves microcirculation, has an anti-edema effect. Participates in oxidation-reduction processes, blocks hyaluronic acid of cell membranes. Increases the density of the vascular wall, reduces the exudation of the liquid part of plasma and diapedesis of blood cells. Reduces inflammation in the vascular wall by limiting platelet adhesion to its surface.

The use of Troxerutin Zentiva is possible both in the initial and in the later stages of treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, it may be used as one of the components of complex treatment.

Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration the drug is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, Cmax in plasma is on average 2 hours after administration, therapeutic plasma level is maintained for 8 hours.

Metabolized in the liver, partially excreted unchanged in the urine and bile.

How to take, the dosage

Initial dose – 1 capsule 3 times a day, maintenance therapy – 1-2 capsules a day. The course of treatment – 2-4 weeks.

Special Instructions

For the expected therapeutic results to occur, the dosage and duration of treatment must be strictly followed.

The drug can be used as one of the components of complex treatment. Particularly for conditions characterized by increased vascular permeability and disturbance of their structure (scarlet fever, flu, measles, allergic reactions), it is used in combination with ascorbic acid to enhance its effects.

Long-term use is not recommended in patients with significant renal dysfunction.

Contraindications

Side effects

Digestive system disorders: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia.

Allergic reactions: skin manifestations (urticaria, itching).

CNS disorders: in some cases – headache, sleep disorders. Side effects occur rarely.
