Fibrinolytic agent.

It has thrombolytic, anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective effects.

The mechanism of thrombolytic action is associated with direct destruction of fibrin filaments which form the main carcass of the thrombus. Mechanism of anti-inflammatory action is connected with influence on oxidative function of blood neutrophils and tissue macrophages. Mechanism of cardioprotective action is connected with the improvement of myocardial blood supply.

Trombovasim^® is a low-toxic drug.

Trombovasim^® does not lower platelet levels and does not affect clotting time or bleeding duration.

Indications

As an aid in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.

Active ingredient

Trombovazim

Composition

1 capsule – a complex of proteinases produced by Bacillus subtilis immobilized by radiation on macrogol 1500 with the addition of dextran (Trombovazim) 400 units.

Interaction

Heparin, dipyridamole, acetylsalicylic acid enhance the antithrombotic effect without increasing the risk of bleeding.

The use with antibiotics of tetracycline series (tetracycline, chlorotetracycline hydrochloride and oxytetracycline hydrochloride) enhances the effect of fibrinolytic drugs.

If it is necessary to use agents containing salts of divalent metals (calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron) due to the possible decrease of enzyme activity it is advisable to keep an interval between doses of the drug Trombovazim ^® and the indicated drugs at least 40 min.

Directions for use

Orally administered 30-40 minutes before meals in a dose of 800-1600 units per day in 2 doses.

Special Instructions

Influence on driving and operating machinery

There have been no studies about the possible effect of the drug on driving and operating machinery, because the drug and its components are not classified as substances which can affect the psychomotor state.

Contraindications

– gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;

– pregnancy;

– lactation;

– age under 18 years (effectiveness and safety not established);

– concomitant use with drugs containing salts of divalent metals (calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron) and tetracycline antibiotics (tetracycline, chlorotetracycline hydrochloride and oxytetracycline hydrochloride);

– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution the drug should be used in patients with polyvalent allergies, COPD, with the threat of bleeding from esophageal veins, urolithiasis, with peptic ulcer in remission stage.

Side effects

Digestive system disorders: rare – dyspeptic phenomena (nausea, vomiting, feeling of heaviness in the stomach).

Others: possibly – allergic reactions, a temporary feeling of tightness in the lower extremities.

Overdose

No cases of overdose of the drug Trombovazim^® have been observed.

Pregnancy use

The drug is contraindicated in pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding).
